So he sort of, I think, turns face a few weeks ago, is then given nothing to do for the next few weeks so then he vanishes until Hell in a Cell, where he faces Kofi Kingston, a guy he's probably faced about a thousand times before. I didn't see the match but I can only imagine he's a heel there, then you have the possibility of now cashing in on Cena.
So what are they doing with him? Has his face turn been forgotten?

They probably had him cash in so they can turn him face real soon.

It's for the best really. I feel no matter how much they built him up he shouldn't be WHC. IC or US champ hell yeah.

It wasn't a face turn.

Sacrificed to the almighty Cena. I don't mind Cena being the alpha, but I don't understand the need to bury Sandow.

Even with the World Title falling in prestige, Sandow was nowhere near ready, and that says a lot.
Nothing wrong with Sandow failing the cash in. The roster is too top heavy. There are too many guys being presented as "main eventers". WWE needs a few more guys on the roster who aren't exactly main event, but aren't jobbers either. And that's where Sandow fits best.

I actually don't hate it.
A) It was a great match, so Sandow will always have that left.
B) This could lead to some interesting character progression. Everybody can relate to messing up on something easy, like making an error that cost your team a win, missing an easy layup etc, so he can be humbled by this and become a babyface. Or Sandow can go insane for losing and admitting he was to soft and decides to f*** up people and channel his inner aggresionzz
I think this will do more more for him than a heatless title reign.

I read they were really going to officially turn him face so this must be part of it. This gives him sympathy.

To quote the WWE Champion "Stoopid! Stoopid, stoopid!" WWE wasted an opportunity here. Hell, they had until, what, July to have Sandow cash in? Build him up, cash in post Mania.

Couldn't beat a dude who was already injured after beating the hell out of said injury...hilarious.
Like he shouldn't have won, but good grief; match wasn't even really about Sandow, it was about Cena "fighting through injury as the toughest man ever!"
That's my only issue with it. Coulda been anyone else in there, the story was about Cena beating odds. Again.
Did nothing for Sandow.

If anybody, it should have been Del Rio attacking Cena and wanting his rematch right there and now. But they have to keep heatless ADR strong so instead they sacrifice Sandow.
