To lose his MITB cash in. While Cena didn't win the belt at his cash in against Punk he still won by DQ thanks to Big Show interference.

Being MITB winner no longer means guaranteed World champion. There's the unpredictability people craved for.

Being MITB winner no longer means guaranteed World champion. There's the unpredictability people craved for. Look at Chris Sabin. He got a surprised title run and that did almost jack-squat for his career other than people laughing that he was a world champ.

It had to happen eventually, and honestly I'm glad the "midcarder winning MITB, becoming WHC and then going right back to the midcard after losing the title" trend is over.

He got a surprised title run and that did almost jack-squat for his career other than people laughing that he was a world champ. And that would had happened to Sandow. He didn't beat any heavy hitters and showed he was on their level. Winning would made him join the long line of former MITB winners who proceed to not be elevated by the win.

It was different in the fact that with the exception of 2 previous cash-ins (RVD, Cena) we had a straight-up match (minus the sneak attack) that was unpredictable. Sandow didn't follow the trend and it was refreshing. Really mixes things up.

IMO it's the best thing that could happen to him. the WHC MITB cash-in is a huge albatross for whoever has it.

I was hoping for Wade to have won at MITB, so this isn't that bad to me.
Don't get me wrong, I like Sandow, but I don't think he's ready just yet for a world title, even if it's the lesser world title.
Eventual IC Champion would be good for him. If he brings back the robe, I think the white strap belt would work for it.

I honestly think the match did more for Sandow than it hurt him. Dude really stepped up to the plate during it and the fans took notice. He proved he wasn't just comedy and could go with their A+ player.

Pretty much what i was going to say just going to add Swagger was a jobber one MITB then the title and that failed i think Sandow losing will be better in the long run as long as they capitalise on the moment he has from the Cena match.
