I guess it's frowned upon for indy wrestlers to actually make money? Back in the territory days, the babyfaces made about half of their income (or more than half) by selling their merchandise at intermission. Cabana is one of the few who have actually figured out how to successfully do it in 2013. In fact, I believe Cornette recently released a book specifically talking about how successful wrestlers used to be in selling their merch.

Locally he's probably a good choice because he's more popular in the States but the whole hustle thing is way un necessary. You figure Cabana is probably making 300-400 a night just to turn up. Probably has a paid for room and his travel has been paid also. I'm not saying don't sell merch but do you really need to be so money hungry that you need to sell another couple hundred bucks of merchandise? C'mon... What's your beef with successfully selling a lot of merch? If anything, Colt's a prime example of the right way to do it. He DOESN'T charge for photos or autographs like so many of his peers, and in addition to that offers a wide variety of t-shirts, buttons, pictures, posters, dvds etc. It's not like he's "hustling" fans either, he's not swindling them into investing in a sub-par product or bullying them into getting something they don't want and foring them to overpay like Virgil. That is probably the silliest criticism I've ever read about anyone. Damned money hungry indy wrestlers! That's like saying "this guy in medical billing makes $26,000 a year. And he asks for a raise? C'mon...not like there's a future to think about or anything." I don't really understand Colt being upset. Maybe he took it as the OP possibly agreeing with what Cornette was saying? Or maybe it was just a "don't tag me you don't know me like that" thing. I don't get twitter at all, so this is all confusing and seems over-dramatic to me.

Everybody has that one thing that rubs them the wrong way, no matter how laid back you are. Trust me, Colt's a pretty awesome guy, and is great with fans. But this Cornette thing seems to be a major MAJOR sore spot with him, with good reason. Should he have reacted that way? Maybe not, but it seems to be a touchy subject that he'd rather not be reminded of. And he could have been already having a shitty day already, and this just made it worse.
