I blame WCW Hulk Hogan rather than the Dungeon.
But then again, I have a soft spot for how over the top the DoD were.

Very informative read. I don't remember Big Bubba being the businessman during his time with DOD. I don't remember him teaming with Gang either. Actually I don't remember Bubba doing anything of note from World War 3 (as businessman versus Duggan) until Slamboree (DOD biker).
Cool that the Zodiac was actually first seen in Mr. Nanny.

On paper, Dungeon Of Doom made a lot of sense. Hogan's former enemies banding together to destroy him once and for all. It was like something out of a comic book. Perfect for a character like Hogan. As Sullivan said though, it was something Vince-like, and that was the problem I think. WCW fans weren't into what Vince was putting out.
