Hogan shrank late 1988 but was still relatively big until spring 1991. After which he began to decrease in size. By the time he quit in 1992 he was smaller still. When he returned in early 1993, he'd easily lost 30-pounds off his 1992 weight which was already 40lbs off his peak weight. So he was probably a legit 230-240pounds. It was blatantly obvious. Like if Warrior had suddenly coming out bald. It noticed. Yet his weight maintained at the 'classic ' 303-pounds. Until summer 1993 when they confessed to him 'slimming down', but for speed, and they finally shaved a massive TWO POUNDS off his weight. You'd lose that if you've had a particularly violent sneeze. The idea he trimmed just 2-pounds from his peak was surely something even fans back then questioned. From this to this And the argument is he only lost 2 pounds?

I think by SummerSlam 90 he was announced at 275. Piper made a huge deal on commentary of him "training lean for endurance".

I don't think he was ever 230 in his wrestling career. His legit weight without steroids was probably about 265. Keep in mind he was about 6'7" before his hip and knee replacements. Now he's closer to 6'4"-5". I suspect he's around 250-260 now.

He said on Howard Stern at one point he was close to 400 pounds. This must've been around the time he almost joined Metallica.

He had to put on that extra 100 lbs to slam that 950 lb, big stinky giant at Wrestlemania 3, in front of 555,000 people in the Pontiac Silverdome, and the Giant died 90 seconds later, brother.

Lanky Hogan in the late WWF/early WCW years is a weird one. He just looks like he's been stretched. When his moustache was shaved off at one point it barely looked like Hogan.

Not to nitpick, but Hogan was never over 6'6" (according to celebheights.com) and very likely about 6'5.5" (according to Powerslam Magazine) at his peak. He was billed at 6'8" in WWF and at 6'7" in WCW. Considering Hogan's own claim that he was 6'7" at his tallest and keeping his track record for exaggerating in mind, and photo evidence, the 6'5.5" - 6'6" seems very plausible. Because of the surgeries, he has indeed lost considerable height (Roddy Piper being another example of this)and is thought to be around 6'3.5" now.

I thought his announced weight went from 303 lbs. down to 275 lbs. by his 1993 run.
But maybe I'm just thinking of the weight listed for him in PWI magazine's rankings...

At King of the Ring 1993, his last televised match in WWF for the era, he was announced at 302 lbs So he lost even less weight than I thought

I have Hogan's absolute peak height at 6'5", and I'm even skeptical of that. I'm guessing 6'4" is more likely. He looked roughly 2" shorter than Tiny "Zeus" Lister, who's listed as 6'5" on IMDb and Wikipedia. He was also completely dwarfed by Andre the Giant, who, while extremely tall, was only around 6'10" or 6'11", a far cry from his billed height of 7'5". Finally, there's his Rent-A-Center commercial with the 6'4" Troy Aikman, where Hogan looks noticeable shorter. My very fair estimates for the Hulkster... Hogan, peak: 6'4" Hogan, current: 6'2.5" Edit: Let's not forget Hogan and 6'7" Dennis Rodman and 6'9" Karl Malone, either.

Only 62 pounds off, no big deal. Perhaps he was giving Haiti Kid a piggyback ride when he weighed the first time.

It's been stated that Lister (who is indeed listed at 6'5", including in an interview with the man in a fairly recent Muscle & Fitness and at his own website) was wearing platform boots for No Holds Barred and his WWF run to make him appear taller and more intimidating than Hogan, since they were very close in height. If Lister isn't wearing the big boots here, a peak Ted DiBiase (who is closer to the camera, making him look taller) and Warlord would've been about 5'11" at best...

People always talk about the Ultimate Warrior and the Undertaker being played by different people, but I'm shocked that I never heard, "ya know, that's not the first Hulk Hogan."
I've never seen a person change their entire facial appearance as much as Hogan did some time between 1989 and 1993. It looks like two brothers (brother!) more than it looks like the same guy.

A good rule of thumb when it comes to weight and height for wrestlers is to substract 25-30 lbs and 2 inches.

I'd buy into the "Zeus wore heavy lifts" argument if we didn't have plenty of other photos where Hogan's clearly nowhere near his billed height. He's towered over by Andre in the 80's and Malone in the 90's, and is significantly shorter than Dennis Rodman, who, himself, is "only" 6'7". There's also the (roughly) 6'7" Sid, who appears to be a good 3"-4" taller than Hulk: There's no way Hogan was ever 6'7"-6'8", and I think even a prime of 6'5" is a slight exaggeration.
