There's also the Kevin Nash story about how he attended a show in Detroit before getting in the business and figured out the wrestling was a work when he caught on he was that much taller than Hogan. He said Hogan is 6'5".

I'd buy into the "Zeus wore heavy lifts" argument if we didn't have plenty of other photos where Hogan's clearly nowhere near his billed height. He's towered over by Andre in the 80's and Malone in the 90's, and is significantly shorter than Dennis Rodman, who, himself, is "only" 6'7". There's also the (roughly) 6'7" Sid, who appears to be a good 3"-4" taller than Hulk: There's no way Hogan was ever 6'7"-6'8", and I think even a prime of 6'5" is a slight exaggeration. You're absolutely right about Hogan never being 6'7" or 6'8". The picture with Sid, however, is a bit deceiving because of Sid's hair (and Hogan's lack thereof) and especially because Sid's closer to the camera, which makes him look taller. Also, I'm not sure when Hogan had his first surgeries, but this is a picture of 1992 so it may not be a prime Hogan here. In a pic where Sid doesn't have the advantage of the camera perpective, Hogan seems about 1.5", 2" max shorter than Sid, who is indeed listed at a legitimate height of 6'7" at celebheights. If the top of someone's head someone comes up to the middle of someone else's eyes, there is usually about a 4.5" height difference. So a 3 to 4 inch difference between Hogan and Sid is out of the question. Andre was significantly taller than Hogan, but I wouldn't call it towering. The top of Hogan's head was at least at the level of Andre's eyes. There are indeed lots of pictures where Hogan doesn't look his billed height, mainly because he never was, but you also have to take things like hair, footwear and camera perspective into account. And the fact that Hogan shrank a good deal in the 90's because of wear and tear on his body and surgeries. Attachments:

I know they're sitting down but Joan Rivers, is as well known, is at least 6'4, 260lbs Mean Gene, given that Hogan is slouching, is easily a foot shorter. I'd guess gene to be around 5'5/5'6. If Hogan only 6ft 3/2 then Gene Okerlund would be almost comically short..
