Was always a mark for the guy. He's always been solid in the ring but holy shit, he might be better than ever right now. Maybe I'm just so disenfranchised with old wrestlers wrestling past their prime that when one isn't terrible, it shocks me.

He's knocking it out of the park. I think he realizes this is almost certainly his last run, and he wants to wrap up his in-ring career on a high note.

Motivated Goldust is a thing of beauty. Honestly 2013 Goldust would be my favourite incarnation even if he'd only had that match with Randy Orton. I think he's been fired from WWE for drug issues so many times that he just wants to go out on top, on his own terms. He's in the shape of his life and good for him.

The amazing thing is, this is the third or fourth time he's done this. I'm starting to think his superpower isn't coming back, it's magically making everyone forget that he's amazing.

I think the fact that he's finally getting to work with Cody after years of pitching the idea to do so is what's really revitalized him.

Goldust's been awesome for all of his WWE comebacks in the last decade.
The big difference this time is that he gets to have the Match of the Week on RAW or Smackdown...instead of Superstars (Jericho vs. Goldust, anyone? Awesome.) or Sunday Night Heat (Goldust vs. Stevie Richards and the like always brought the goodness)
Yup, dude's one of the best.

Goldust has been amazing. Really enjoying his work.
The fact that he has had time off from the WWE's hectic road schedule probably helps a lot. WWE really should look into instituting a system with everyone like they do with RVD and Jericho where guys just work short term deals for a few months; take time off and then come back for another short run. It keeps them fresh for years. Look at how long Kane has lasted due to the frequent breaks he takes every year it seems.

I'm loving his work right now - he's always been a unique and interesting character that can go in the ring, but I';m really enjoying his run now. In fact I'd say I'm watching Raw at least partly to see him.

sorry I know FRAT and all that, but read this thread then saw this article and thought it fit:
WWE tag team champion Dustin "Goldust" Runnels recently spoke with Mike Mooneyham of the Charleston Post and Courier about his triumphant return to the company and winning tag team gold with his brother, Cody Rhodes. Regarding their title win over The Shield, he said, "It was one of those matches that was built the right way from the ground up. It started out very slowly, old-school style, and ended with some boom, boom, boom. It was hot. It was very, very exciting."
Goldust says he's in the best shape of his career and takes a lot of pride in his work.
“It was cool the way things worked out,” reflects Runnels. “I never could have imagined or dreamed where my career would be taking me the way it has with the Goldust character. It's awesome.
“I think I've stumbled upon the fountain of youth or something. I'm 44 years old and I'm down to high school weight (225). But I've worked hard for it the past few years. Plus being with Cody gives me more motivation. I've really enjoyed this storyline we've been doing.”
“Now I realize that I can get out there and be clear when I'm working and really give a (darn) and get through a match without taking all that (stuff). That's really what it's about. And I'm enjoying it. I know what's going on now. It's cool.”

Goldust can flat-out tell a compelling story in the ring.
I have all the time in the world to see a clean and sober Dustin Rhodes at work.

Goldust for the WWE HOF, and I am in no way ashamed of saying that.

I think his age actually works in his favor now. This is gonna sound like bullshit but unlike quite a few of the younger guys on the roster who may be more athletic than him, Goldust knows how to work. Not wrestle but WORK. He knows what to do to get the desired reaction from the crowd.

I love Goldust. I never thought i'd be able to say that in 2013 Goldust is the highlight & main reason I tune into both Raw & Smackdown at the moment but by god, he's the exact reason I tune in. He's on fire with his current run & I love his team with Cody.
I still hear rumors about the Wrestlemania match between the two of them, but i'm not sure I want to see it. I love Goldust & I don't think a heel turn at this stage of his career is a good idea or not; he's at his best as a face now. Cody is getting the rub by being in the story-line he's in & teaming with Goldust; I don't think we need to see them feud.

I've always been a Goldust mark, and it's primarily because of his unique ringwork. Not to mention being able to portray his character into his moveset. To see one of my all-time favorites become one of the biggest highlights of RAW and Smackdown? Yeah, I'm excited. And I honestly don't mind if he and Cody do feud with each other. It's what they wanted in the first place, and I have no doubt the two of them would make it work. I think Goldust would need to be the heel though.

I gave him a month when he first came back, but I was totally wrong. He looks great, JBL's comments about him finding a time machine are pretty apt.
Effeminate Goldust is fine, stuttering comedy Goldust is fine. Bad-ass veteran Goldust is awesome. Long may he stay, and when he does turn heel against Cody, the promos and Mania hype videos will be spectacular.
