Dear god, I forgot about this one. It cracks my shit up every time, but I don't know how Vince possibly thought it was a good idea for any reason. Well, at the very least, there was a self-awareness surrounding this. While I'm never in favor of caucazoids dropping the n-bomb unless absolutely necessary for quotation or in an entertainment scenario that absolutely requires it, this particular instance was framed in a way where the joke was Vince is so completely out of touch that he thinks saying such a thing is OK, with the joke further being punctuated by panning to Booker saying "tell me he didn't just say that." They totally knew what they were doing with this. I see the more unaware moments like Kurt Angle's freudian slip of saying "bestiality sex" when he meant to say "bestial sex," Steve Austin in full redneck mode on a 4X4 chasing Teddy Long in 2003, Vince asking Paul Heyman out of nowhere "do I need to say it in Yiddish," Triple H telling Booker T that his "kind" weren't meant to hold the world belt and then going over as despite being the heel in a race angle, etc., far worse as the joke or point they tried to make for entertainment purposes is miles removed from how the televised moment actually came off. "do I need to say it in Yiddish" was hilarious and that's coming from a guy who's parents raised him Jewish. My grandparents in NYC still speak Yiddish to this day and it made me smile to hear it brought up on tv since it's kind of a dying language.

Lawler referred to Kane as the Big Red Retard at once point during Wrestlemania 2000. Even for the attitude era, that's harsh. EDIT: Crap, that's over 10 years ago. Point still stands, though. tbf pretty much everyone was calling Kane the big red retard at that time. Triple H, The Rock, Vince. Speaking of Vince, I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet:

TNA doing a segment where it was implied D'angelo Dinero (sp?) was involved in dog-fighting.
Though I'm sure there's a lot of much more egregious stuff that's happened in smaller promotions. Wasn't there a wrestler who had a gimmick that referenced the Chris Benoit murders?

There's been discussion of some of the heel things Lawler and Piper did back in the day that were racially insensitive to say the least, but what about more recently? It wasn't too long ago that audience members brought "Eddie (Guerrero), mow my lawn" signs to WWF/WWE events, and the promotion did nothing to crack down on the offenders.

WWE encouraged it.

The Muhammad Hassan gimmick was pretty loathsome, a Muslim guy who's a heel because he has the gall to object to being labelled a terrorist because of his ethnicity. He was a heel because he was an asshole and cheated then called people a racist when they pointed it out. Doing the actual Terrorist bit with guys in ski masks and camo however would be an acceptable answer. Hell didn't a Los Guerreros Lawn Service sign make it into their Titantron at one point?

Kurt Angle isn't much of a fan of "the black people" or Jesus.
I know it is wrong to laugh, but Angle's delivery with these sort of lines were/are second to none. He does it in such a tone that he can get away with it, in a "oh Kurt, you crazy fool you *begins to pat Angle's head*" way.

That Kurt could say whatever the hell he wanted and no one would boo him.

didn't a Los Guerreros Lawn Service sign make it into their Titantron at one point? I'm 90% sure that this was from a pre-recorded skit, where Chavo and Eddie used a fake lawn service business to steal from someone. They were taking that particular stereotype and deliberately skewering people who'd use it. ...of course, it was all in service of a DIFFERENT stereotype, but y'know, baby steps.

I don't remember that... But what I do remember that hasn't been said yet was that was the original point of the Mexicools... but they only said that in like their debut promo... and if you missed it all you ever saw was them coming out on Lawnmowers

JBL patrolling the boarder to keep out illegals (and kicking one family in the butt) wasn't too pc, although it was funny.

Wasn't Hunico's mini-tron the barbed-wire top of a border fence?

You can't ever have a guy in a wheelchair NOT get beat up, even if they are playing the jerk in the situation.
And there's the whole Eugene thing.

there was that time Jerry called Goldust a Flaming Fag back in 1997. Ha! I was there live for that one. Right when Goldust was starting to get a strong babyface reaction and sympathy from the crowds, they booked him and Lawler for a King of the Ring qualifying match on RAW. Problem was the night that the match happened they were in Evansville, IN(a weekly stop on the Memphis circuit for years). King cut a rather scathing and brutal promo on the Goldust referencing the strained relationship he had with his father("well, maybe if you weren't on tv kissing men like a flaming f*****"), insulting his daughter and wife("Your daughter's name is Dakota. she should have been named Target, because from what I heard everybody had a shot") and should have by all rights been booed. Instead the crowd erupted with cheers. The King can do no wrong in Evansville.
