Man, I hate to see anyone go . Last Season made me sad so much. It's just a game but still.

I loved those songs. Nice and upbeat; reminded me of Brad vs. Spiderfab last Season when they picked Stevie Wonder and Bobbie Hebb for the Sing-off.

Guest Host. Cage works retail, so I imagine it's nuts for him right now. When he can host again, it's all his but I'll be around to keep things going.

Just to let everyone know, I'm headed to my sister's for the holidays tonight in a few hours. If you like, you can send me any songs that you have and I'll respond to them when I can. You can also send the songs to Cageking and, if he feels up to it, he can Host of course. I'll send him the songs I have so far.

I figure a lot of people will be busy anyway but I figured I should give the heads up. I'll be able to do things as normal Thursday afternoon. Happy Holidays .

I apologize severely for basically going back on this but the update is now that the season is winding down so is my job and my last week is the week of January5th, so i should be able to pop back in control, unless there is a mutiny since this is the second time ny head has been chopped off and I'm trying not to go for a third strike

Honestly, if it's ok with Tyger, and if most everyone feels the same way, then I would have to respectfully pass power over to Senor Tyger, with me being the guest host/guest judge every now and then

Although I will admit, I did have the most planned for this season with so many fun ideas, so as long as I can at least hear one good job towards me, I can at least feel satisfied

My opinion is that it's your Season. If I'm to keep Hosting, that's fine by me, just step in when you can with what you're able to do. I'm the most qualified person to Host right now, since all the other past Hosts that are still active on the forum are either playing or doing something else in the games section, like Anonymous and Mafia, and anyone else who could potentially host is playing. So, I'll keep it going; nothing in the rules says we can't run a Season this way.

Cage sent me this Season's outline earlier and asked me to send it back. There are a few things that he needs to explain for me, including this Round's bonus, and, once he tells me what exactly it is, I'll post it. Like always, contestants can change their picks if they so choose until I send the songs to the judges.

If Cage decides to keep hosting or wants me to co-host, I'm all for it. If he needs me to take over, then I need a helpful mod to set up a post for me after the OP so I can keep the songs and rounds organized.

Right now we have 11 out of 17 Songs for the Bells and Whistles Round and I'll pm a reminder to the others. I'd like to see where we are at by Sunday evening; hopefully, I'll have all the songs by then or at least acknowledgement that a song will be forthcoming. However, we have to keep the pace up, so I'll move on to posting and judging by Monday.

I'm doing an audible with the Rounds, so here is the bonus for this Round's winner: The winner gets to choose the next Round from a list of three categories inspired by adding something to a musical performance in the vein of Bells and Whistles:



Voices

Choose 1 Song that features at least two different vocalists. It can be a traditional duet, a song featuring backing vocals, a song featuring two different vocal styles (singing and rapping, singing and spoken word, etc.) but it has to feature more than one singer.



Strange Bedfellows

Choose 1 Song that features two or more different musical artists collaborating who typically do not work together. A duet, a song using a sample, a musical mash-up, live performances featuring members from different bands, a famous producer like Dr. Dre or Moby lending their style to another musician's music, etc. Performances with many musicians, such as "We are the World" or various Live Aid performances, will not count toward the one artist, one song rule, as they will just be considered "Live Aid performers" or another umbrella term.



Space Cowboys: Genres and Formats

Choose 1 Song that can be considered a blend of two or more musical genres or a cover of a song in a different genre from the original. An alternative rock song with electronica influences, a jazz song with a hip hop beat, a classical metal piece, a pop country song among other musical performances. For the purposes of this category, one cannot choose a song performed by the original artist in a different fashion (so, no unplugged or stripped down versions from the same artists; it would be perfectly acceptable, however, to have someone else cover a song in this fashion)

14 out 17 songs in for the current Round. The remaining 3 have been notified and have until after Raw to send in their songs or they risk getting a zero for the Round. The rounds will remain cumulative (unlike last Season), so that puts one at a huge disadvantage.

The round winner can choose from the three categories posted; if, for some reason the winner elects not to do so, the category will be chosen at random using random.org.

Is it the Waffle song with Goku and Krillian? Probably not.

A question came up during a song submission: the Round is Bells and Whistles and it asks for a song that features an instrument that is not the guitar, bass guitar, and drum.

I wasn't as clear as I could be: the song can have those instruments in the song as well, that's perfectly legal. I would rather not see a Round that banned those instruments because, yeah, that would suck. How much the song features the additional instrument is also up to the contestant: the instrument can be used as much as you want in the song, so a song that uses, say, a saxophone for 30 seconds is just as legal as a song that uses a full string section for the entire song or features a musician playing the piano and singing. The judges can, however, reserve the right to say that a song doesn't feature an instrument enough and judge accordingly.

Any questions about your songs for this Round, please let me know. You can change your song if you choose as long as you do it before the deadline, which is essentially after Raw. If you need a little more time, let me know. I'm a night owl and I'll probably be up late but I'm sending the songs to the judges tonight/early tomorrow morning either way.
