This came to my mind after watching the WM in which Benoit won the title. I wonder.
How does WWE go about his title reigns in the history books?
I remember in Orton's documentary they showed him holding the belt and didn't acknowledge that he beat Benoit for it. They skipped over it. I've also seen the whole "black body" thing (although i"m not sure if this is authentic) taking out Benoit but what I'm wondering about is how it's done in the history books. Does it just say "Orton wins vacated title" or something? What about the whole US Championship thing? If they're erasing him out the books then what does that say about the stars that beat him for the belt? Are they just handed the belt?
I wonder how the WWE encyclopedia handles these.
EDIT: Answered. Can now close thread.

He's still in the title lineage, and he's still in WWE Encyclopedia.
They're not erasing him from history.

Yeah, contrary to popular belief, WWE never "erased" Benoit (apart from that DVD listing HBK vs HHH as the WrestleMania XX main event).
They mention the things he accomplished, they just don't glorify him. They avoid talking about him if they can.

Yeah, they even included him on a list of people that won the Rumble from number one on the website, when they do the by the numbers thing.
