His first segment was a stale-mate with...Brad Maddox? And then he makes fun matches the people want to see?
I was a little kanefused; surely I wasn't the only one to think he would have an intimidating, physical president at the Director of Operations?

No, you were a little Kanefused. Beaten to it. But, yeah that's all there is to it. Another layer of Kanefusion.

I do love the logic. Ok, here's one of the few veterans that can consistently put on amazing matches, so we're going to stick him in a suit and have him do a battle of wits with Brad Maddox.

I want him to punish a pissed off face with every right of being pissed by forcing him go through therapy sessions with Dr. Shelby.

Considering that it's Kane, "enforcer" feels like it would be beneath him. Maybe an authority figure that can actually work, and books low carders in squash matches against himself for his own amusement would be a good way to go about it.

I feel like "amazing" is a bit of stretch. I'd struggle to name a bad matchup with Team Hell No, and they were involved in a good deal of the best matches of the year.

Authority figures, especially heels, in wrestling need to die a long overdue death.

I dunno, I think Kane and Maddox could be a great double team, and could maybe bring some humour into this whole tedious "this business" bullshit.

The vibe I got was that they're going to try and recreate the Kane/Bryan anger management type skits. Kane did put Orton in his place though with a pretty good threat. I do see Kane going through a bunch of comedy segments with Maddox going forward.

Kane is the kind of authority figure we need. Maddox too. They have a different feel. HHH, Steph and Vickie are old hack.

Id rather he wasn't an authority figure. The Authority will be back in charge next week so hopefully Kane will be more interesting then.

I'm guessing by the time we get to Wrestlemania, everybody will be an authority figure.
Maddox: "CM Punk, you will fight Ryback in a match tonight."
Ryback: "Not so fast! As the Director of Technical Operations, I am not under your authority. I will take on Curtis Axel tonight."
Axel: "I'm afraid that's not possible. You see, as the consultant of public relations, you do not have the ability to tell me who I go up against. So therefore, I will face Kofi Kingston."
Kofi: "Correction. You cannot face me."
Maddox: "What's your title?"
Kofi: "Former intercontinental champion."
Ryback: "No stupip! What your WWE corporate title."
Kofi: "I...don't...have one."
Axel: "Yes! That means you have to face me tonight."
Ryback: "But I wanna fight him!"
Maddox: "Gentlemen, we can ALL fight him."
*the three men nod approvingly, Kofi smiles not understanding what any of this means, but doesn't want to seem like he's out of the loop*

Glen Jacobs wanted an easier schedule and he got it. It's that time in his career.
As for the authority figures, they should make Maddox a wrestler, send Vickie back to managing, and let Mr. Kane run the shows.
