This really seemed superfluous and just a very strange thing to do on Raw altogether.
I can't imagine there was anyone who said to themselves after HiaC, "I'd love to see Punk beat up a crippled Heyman with a kendo stick - again! This feud is definitely NOT over!"
Seemed like filler though.
Gawd, I hope Heyman isn't the devil behind the Wyatts - that would just, well - WWE: it is ok for stories to actually END. Not just peter out.

It's an easy way to write off Heyman and to tell the fans he and Ryback broke up and now hate each other.

The strange thing is they actually laid the groundwork for that segment last week, from a company that doesn't usually bother with little things like continuity or common sense and often makes up major company wide storylines as they go along.

It kind of reminded me of when Cena beat up Big Johnny and David Otunga the night after No Way Out when Johnny was fired.

I think it was WWE's way of stressing that the Punk/Heyman stuff is done as well as end the Heyman/Ryback stuff. They're probably feeling that very few saw HIAC and wanted to make it obvious Punk has gotten revenge on Heyman.

Just a treat for the UK audience I think. Next time we see Heyman will probably be before Mania depending if we get Punk vs. Lesnar 2.

It kind of reminded me of when Cena beat up Big Johnny and David Otunga the night after No Way Out when Johnny was fired. Or the time Cena beat the crap out of Michael Cole and poured BBQ sauce all over him, after Cole's feud with Lawler had already ended.

I actually found myself laughing at it. It sort of reminded me of when Austin beat up McMahon in the hospital. I said to myself, "Poor, Paul." in a humorous way.

I was indifferent towards the beatdown since Punk hit Heyman with the stick repeatedly on the back brace he was wearing. Not suggesting Heyman should actually get hit with one, but it didn't come across as a beatdown.

That makes it less likely that Heyman would be the "devil". Why would he let himself get slaughtered if he could just have the Wyatts his protectors now?

it kinda reminded me of that time Cena beat up Michael Cole. it was something that at one point the fans would've clamoured for but by that point they'd long since stopped caring.

Heyman's selling of getting hit by kendo sticks is funny.
It reminds me of when Jillian used to yell OW! when getting chopped while still wearing her headset mic from singing.

In fairness, the Manchester fans reacted very well to the segment. They even reacted to Punk spinning Heyman around in the wheelchair.
