on a Raw in the UK would get the heels heat? That seemed like the intention they planned for having 3MB call themselves the "union jacks". And as expected, it backfired.

Baffling. Take a team no one gives two f***s about and have them face guys wrestling in the UK in Union jacks..was there ever going to be a different outcome?

To be fair to them, most people who are remotely arsed about the Union Jack are usually bellends so their hearts were in the right place

3MB is already decently popular in the UK without the flag all over their pants, so this was certainly baffling.

The only explanation I can think of is that they wanted to do the Union Jack thing somehow, but they figured the faces doing it would be seen as shallow and pandering, so they just did it with the heels.
I didn't say a "good" explanation.

3MB aren't really serious heels. So it was more a fun 'OMG look at what these goofs are doing now' as opposed to a concerted conspiracy theory to undermine a face tag team. Some of y'all may be taking it too seriously or looking for an explanation that isn't there.

Maybe going forward they will taylor their outfits/names for whatever town RAW/SD is in that week? Sorta like European Champ D'lo being billed from various european cities? I'm down with that idea. Keeps 3MB a bit fresher and if they ever turn them face, it'll be an easy way to pop the crowd.

It kind of fits the gimmick of 3MB with them trying to do something right and falling on there faces. Although the crowd enjoyed it, the special outfits still didn't hide the face they were jobbing.

Jinder should have rolled one into a turban if they wanted to get heat.

3MB are really popular in the UK so my guess was that wwe thought 'They are going to get cheered anyway, why not play up to it'
Same thing with Fandango

They made it up to them on Main Event.

I figured Fandango wore it simply because they knew the UK crowd would do the dance, so anything to boost that and make Fandango look more over...
3MB are suppose to be goof balls and they knew the UK crowd are smarks who'd cheer for them, so why not amp it up?

The thing is, and this is a common mistake from Americans, we don't really give a f*** about the flag over here. Even patriots aren't likely to be really offended if you deface it. Wearing the flag might get a patriot on your side, but honestly those types of people are frequently right wing nutters anyway these days...

Patriots in the US are generally in the Hacksaw Duggan/Sgt. Slaughter mould. Patriots in the UK are closer to Zeb Coulter's mentality.

3MB aren't "make you hate them" kind of heels.
They're "oh god, look what this idiot's doing now" heels.

Yeah, we're not crazy about our flag like some other countries but there's no way we're going to boo someone if they're wearing our colours... that's like booing Mick Foley when he says your home town. Having Zeb try insult the crowd and expect a negative wasn't really going to work either, we're a pretty self deprecating bunch and the shtick don't fly with us to easily (for the most part)

Some of y'all may be taking it too seriously or looking for an explanation that isn't there. That can't be it since the face of the company for the past 8 years has been the biggest, pandering "Poochie" type character they've ever had.
