So many stars this year started out with strong pushes that got badly ruined. Which one got ruined the most?

Easily RyBack. I don't even like the guy and even I feel sorry for him.

Curtis Axel wasn't handled the best, but I wouldn't call him ruined. What hurt Axel was them trying to shove him into main event storylines while also intentionally putting it out there that he didn't belong in the ring with them. But he's still better off than he was before. At the beginning of the year, he was one of the guys they used to give low card faces a pity win every now and then.

Exactly how is Curtis Axel ruined? At the beginning of the year, he was one of the guys they used to give low card faces a pity win every now and then. He's in a better spot now than he was. I don't see how this would apply to most of the names on here. I'm guessing it's just to fill out a poll... but my answer is Ryback. He was in WWE title matches and main eventing shows at the tail end of 2012 and in 2013 he gave up to Miz after being kicked in the leg. That being said I like the character in 2013 way more than 2012.

Everything that was once good about Sandow has been stripped away, I would vote Ryback but at least he's entertaining in his goofiness. Sandow just.... yeah.

Ryback and Sandow are the only guys on here who could be considered "ruined" by any stretch of the imagination, and even Sandow so far has experienced only one horrible week of being an aggressive guy in black trunks with no other personality traits.
But boy, has Ryback been pummelled into the ground.

The only people one could really make a case for here would be Ryback and maybe Sandow and Ziggler (also Miz). The other options... as usual, I feel like there's something I'm not seeing that constitutes them having been ruined.

Ziggler
The man was RIGHT THERE even before Bryan on the absoloute cusp of finally breaking through the glass ceiling and EVERYONE was ready for it and then the concussion happened but that didn't deteer him because he still came back just as over as he had ever been....aaaaand then he lost...and then he lost again....then they broke up team rocket...and he lost again.....and again.....and then he loses clean to curtis *something something swimming genesis* Axel.
The mans fall from grace is unreal.

Ziggler for me. The dude went from feuding with Cena to winning the WHC and getting a huge ass pop, to just being there.
Ryback a close second, but I'm eh on Ryback.

I'm holding out hope that he'll be able to gradually integrate his own quirks and mannerisms back into the character, but you're probably right...

Ryback hands down. While Ziggler may be more of a better worker, Ryback had superstar potential.

Ziggler started the year as an upper midcarder who should be world champion, but was jobbing left and right.
He'll end the year as an upper midcarder who should be world champion, but is jobbing left and right.
It sucks that his world title reign ended so soon, and he should be in a better position, but if we're talking about the biggest drop the ball situation of 2013 it has to be Ryback. He's transitioned from being the hottest face in the company and facing CM Punk for the WWE Title, to jobbing to R-Truth on Raw in a four minute match. A prime contender for most mis-managed superstar of the past decade.

Ryback in april was the most over main event face on the roster
Now he is a middling directionless heel jtts.
What happened?
Wwe had the opportunity to make Ryback by having him beat Cena clean cementing him as the new guy. A guy over with the casuals to the point of shaking the hard camera with how loud arenas got for him.
But nope. Nonsensical heel turn. Then jobbed into oblivion to cena and punk, then the loss to miz, and finaly losing o r-truth on monday.
Horrible. Guy should be the top face right now

Daniel Bryan. One day, he'll get a decent WWE title run, as a 3 time champion with a combined 2 days when he wins it. He's a chump now, never a champ.

Ryback. The guy's a joke now.
Ziggler, Sandow and Miz have all been terribly treated this year as well.

I'll throw out a different name here based on a combination of bad booking and injury: Mark Henry.
The promo and subsequent turn on Cena was a highlight of the year and they should have put the belt on him, but for whatever reason, they didn't. He was the rare credible, non-chickenshit heel, which is something of a dying breed in the WWE.
I'd love to see him get a WWE Title run before he retires and it wouldn't be a sympathy run because he's still dynamite on the mic and over like crazy.

I think its obvious that the "newz" that Ryback had major heat on him is probably true. They tend to only bury guys the way he's been buried recently unless they are trying to teach someone a lesson. I think Ryback is probably the easy answer to this question and probably the right answer.
I also don't agree with Sandow. The guy is clearly going to be getting a push and while I hope we see a return of his OTT smarmy heel, they're going some place with him at least. I'd much rather see Sandow in Del Rio's spot than Del Rio. I think it was a mistake jobbing him to Cena so soon, but if they go some place with him, it won't matter.
I want to answer Ziggler, but the answer is Ryback. Ziggles is still a great hand in the ring and has the most potential to be a star than anyone mentioned in this thread and has had a year where he's been nothing but stagnant and completely misused. However, the saving grace with Ziggler is that he can believably go right back up the card very easily and all is not lost by any stretch of the imagination. The difference with Ryback is that he's one dimensional and once guys like him are ruined, they're much harder to build back up unless they have some other intangible to lean on. Ryback is not a very good wrestler. He's not a very good talker either. They built him up and then basically crushed him within the span of this year and he's going to be much harder to build back up than someone like Ziggler or Sandow.
