Best guess is probably the second half of 1979 -- Diana Nyad made news in August of that year by setting a world distance swimming record by swimming from the Bahamas to Florida. So she was topical during the August-September period.
Great find.

Woah great find. Is this new discovered footage because the upload date was yesterday and only 22 views. I'm a big Kaufman fan and didn't know this existed so I'm marking out. Plus I love how Vince looks like he's corpsing. So surreal and I wish he was already in the HOF already.

I bet Vince is thinking "my dad's an idiot for refusing to do business with this guy".

There's a lot of topical information in here:
Recently, someone matched Diana's swim from Cuba to Key West. Also, there is a weird news article that insists Andy Kaufman is still alive and his death was just to get away from show business. Jerry Lawler was quoted as saying that if true, he would love to face Kaufman at WM 30.
Mr. Lawler? Um, no.

I didn't say that, but Jerry has aged to the point I don't think he can carry a dead man through a match - even if his name was Mark Calloway.

Thanks for finding the card, I was wondering who lost to Volkoff and who Backlund was about to face. Swede Hansen - I didn't recognize him with the cowboy hat on.

As cool as the video is, I just can't help but really miss this era. The shitty camera, shitty audio, dark arena, basically everything looking and sounding like a boxing match. Fink introducing the wrestlers when they are in the ring, climbing back into the ring after to declare a winner and time of the match, just everything.... I miss it.

Yeah plus Kaufman was a fantastic showman who actually got the wrestling business and the entertainment aspect of it. It would of been great because Kaufman would understand to keep it short but entertaining by being the most obnoxious entertaining hated troll with possible goons to help him out only for something to backfire on him which leads to Kaufman begging Lawler for forgiveness with Lawler having none of that and boom head shot he f***s him up. Crowd pops match is over. Then for the post match have Kaufman crying and blaming everyone and the crowd just making him stoop to low pathetic levels. As long if the match is short the match should be entertaining just like on how if Vince and Bret was short it would of been a fun squash match. If they really needed to kill time I'm sure Kaufman would come up with the brilliant idea of cutting an evil trollish promo before the match officially begins.

And look who is in the ring right after this, Classy Freddie Blassie. Seriously this would have awesome to see Kauffman wrestler in the WWF.
Seriously why is he not in the WWE Hall Of Fame? He is more relevent and important to wrestling than any of the celebirties in the WWE Hall Of Fame.
