Several cable systems carrying WWE Classics on Demand were given word that the station would be shut down shortly. WWE later confirmed that they would be shutting down in February 2014.
This would seem to confirm the long-discussed network is very much planned, and likely going live around that time.

Steph said in an interview they'd be launching in Feb. and PWInsider has mentioned hearing a date of Feb. 24 as the launch date so this doesn't surprise me.

I never could get WWE On Demand where I am. 30mins North of me could get it though. As much as I'd love the WWE Network to launch, I imagine it'll be a long while before Canada gets any kind of access to it.

If your chances of seeing it are slim, my chance is anorexic, gone into a hunger induced coma and the life support battery is on its last legs.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just rebrand WWE Classics as the WWE Network?

Wouldn't it be simpler to just rebrand WWE Classics as the WWE Network? I thought that was what they were going to be doing originally. Seems like a much simpler plan.

Well I guess since Sid actually returned, the Network getting off the ground is at least possible.

Didn't they already start to cancel it once or twice for the previous network launch dates? Still convinced this is a thing that is never going to happen. And if it does it's probably going to do nothing but make them hemorrhage money - they might like to talk about having 20 million viewers a week or whatever it is, but Raw gets about 4 or 5 million a week, you have to imagine almost everyone who watches SmackDown or Main Event is watching it and that number is much lower, then you have to account for availability of the channel itself and the likelihood of someone wanting to pay extra money for (outside of the B PPVs which aren't selling in the first place) entirely unnecessary side content and older stuff. I can't see any way in which thing would have any sort of respectably-sized audience and even if they do play a lot of old content there's still a definite budget there that I can't see being made back.
