Got to get that pesky rematch out of the way before Curtis become a permanent citizen of Superstarsville. Basically.

To signal the end of the Curtis Axel era, Big E. should toss him into a swimming pool after the match.

If this is really the end for Axel's relevancy, they should finish him up by copying the Benoit/Orlando Jordan story-line.

Enjoy your last ever PPV match, Curtis. At least until his next push...as Lawrence Perfectoberry.

I just love the idea that we had a Raw where a tonne of interesting things happened (new Intercontinental Champion, Rey Mysterio returned, Miz turned heel, Xavier Woods debuted, Brad Maddox may have been written off TV) and it'll be followed by one of the dullest, most predictable PPV's in history. I don't know if the WWE is doing this on purpose or if its unintentionally crappy booking, but month by month they're booking their product like TNA, where the PPV's are meaningless and all the good action happens on free TV. It's very much on purpose. Between the WWE Network prepping to launch and carry nearly all PPVs and WWE looking to at the very least double or better their TV rights fees, Raw, and to a much lesser extent SD, have become king. We're talking WWE thinking they can get hundreds of millions of dollars for the rights to Raw and SD compared to the tens of millions they get for PPVs. Except they Network may smash that thinking into smithereens. WWE's priority --since it will be their own money invested in making it work-- will have to be the Network; so by proxy, to keep subscribers, they will have to change their TV model and shift the happenings and bigger matches to their network to keep said subscribers, well, subscribing. The network failing has the potential to destroy their revenue stream completely. But a broader focus on the Network will alienate the TV contracts with USA/Viacom they'll be renegotiating. They can't equally serve two masters. One side will suffer and falter.

Viacom has to be fully aware of the WWE's aspirations for a new network. If the WWE wants their cable channel to work, the incentive may be more than just putting what used to be PPVs on this channel. Quite honestly, I don't see how they're gonna get the desired amount of monthly subscribers.

It's simple, TV is far more important to WWE than PPV. Only thing that was missing was a return for Ezekiel Jackson. As a matter of fact, that's probably what should occur this Sunday, Big Zeke returns and beats both Big E and Axel for no apparent reason and the following Monday nothing is explained.

And then he'll walk out to the ring the next night on RAW, grab a mic, and explain a new cooking recipe to us in a listless, melancholy voice.
