Although she likely won't end up as a backgrounder... more like a featured player for an episode like a Gilda or a Lightning Dust.
Honestly, the last new backgrounders that truly got over would probably have been Allie Way and Wild Fire back in Season 2. I can't remember any prominent backgrounders since then because all the funny material was going to the established ones.

Hmm, what does count as a backgrounder? Are Flitter, Cloudchaser or that Andrea Libman pony in "Wonderbolt Academy" for example not BG ponies because they have had more screen time than Allie Way and Wild Fire you mentioned?

I see 3 levels of background ponies: those without show canon names or speaking parts, those with either a show canon name or a VERY small speaking part but not the other, and ones with both a show canon name and a very small speaking part. |

Why? Its not like Celestia hasn't sported the Joe Shimamura look since Season 1. Obligatory Cyborg 009 posting since someone mentioned it!!!!!! Anyways, after watching Day of the Doctor, I'm not sure how to proceed with the Doctor here. That ending kinda messed with my whole canon that I had going on. Especially with the whole "Fixed Points in Time cannot and should not be messed with" thing. |
