I loved Rock/Punk. Didn't like either Rock/Cena things, except for Rock's random win. That was hilariously out of nowhere and it got me marking out, I admit. "Divorce layers 'round the block...." and "I don't need to write notes for my promo on my wrist" were pretty hardcore, definitely stuck out from the rest of the stuff. I think they had some legit dislike for each other so keeping it light/focused on certain things was kind of necessary for them to work together without getting into a HBK/Bret situation. Or, maybe they're best pals and I got worked, jack! Who knows? I remember everyone thinking Rock was going easy on Cena until months after the actual feud news of Cena's divorce came out and we were all more or less convinced that Rock is a goddamn prophet. No idea if Rock knew about it or if that was just a funny coincidence, but holy shit it's funny in hindsight. ROCK CUTS A PROMO ON YOU GETTING DIVORCED. YOU GET DIVORCED. I don't think they actually dislike each other to be honest, it kind of felt like they were trying to sell the feud based on the idea of them disliking each other in real life which felt...boring. Punk/Rock felt more fun because it was more about their characters and less about the actors. Just Punk being Punk and Rock being Rock. That really long promo where Punk revealed the Voice of the Voiceless stuff was all a lie (or was it?), and there was a commercial then Rock came out...to me, one of the best promo segments ever. That shit was riveting. I agree with you, Rock/Punk was more character based and much better as a result.

I don't think he should come back again either. He makes everyone else on the roster pale in comparison. Even Punk looked out of his element in their feud.

If I were him, I'd never come back again. I'd just make millions in Hollywood.

I didn't think Punk looked out of his element one bit. I loved the way he listened to Rock's insults, pissed off as can be, didn't laugh or shrug them off like Cena did (I HATED that), and then got straight to the heart of the matter and told him he was gonna kick his ass and his arms were too short to box with God. I want that CM Punk to be a babyface in a personal feud, that's the kind of wrestler I want to cheer for.

I want Cena, Ziggler and Punk to disappear off of television forever. Can't always get what we want.

I know we saw it coming and it was predictable and all that, but it was a good feud and Punk is one of the few guys in the WWE atm that can stand in the ring alone and cut a long promo without putting people to sleep.

As a big fan of his I agree. He has nothing left to prove in wrestling and should resume pursuing his acting career. He went out the way he wanted to: Passing the torch to the next guy and bowing out gracefully. But Cena really didn't need the be passed the torch. I'd love to see Rock come back and put someone over who actually needs it. Why not do Rock vs Bryan? And no this is not a "Bryan should be Poochie'd" post.

Rock should be Black Manta. If anyone can get an Aquaman movie over, he can. Liam Hemsworth as Aquaman and you've got a winner there.

I agree that Cena wouldn't have been my choice either, but like it or not he was Rock's placeholder for this current era and they kinda HAD to book that match. With demand of casual fans who loved Cena and wanted to see him prove that he was just as good as performer of the stars of the attitude era and previous causal fans who wanted to see the Rock kick his ass and show folks what a real star looks like. Regardless, I'm just grateful that I got to see a match up I did want to see: Punk vs. Rock

He held his own on the mic, and he's always great in the ring, but looks wise, he doesn't match up. Rock was more jacked than ever. He looked like he could kick his ass irl no problem. It kind of reminded of when he had that little feud with Hurricane since they're about the same size, which was cool, but it makes me kind of agree with Nash's vanilla midget stance.

As long as the crowd reacts the way they do for him, I think he should remain open to coming back. It was cool having him around.

Oh I see where you're coming from now. There was definitely a huge size disparity there, no question. I can look past it, but I get it if people can't. The vanilla midget thing though, Punk isn't short, and he's certainly not vanilla.

I just assumed it was smaller guys in general and Punk is kinda small. Lean and a bit soft looking anyway.
