The Wyatts and the Shield being openly affiliated on Raw, along with Punk namedropping that the Authority wants to "keep them busy," doesn't feel coincidental. Sure they're setting up Roman Reigns a little, but I'm getting the vibe that Team Indy Darlings and the main storyline are much closer affiliated than we're being led to believe, as much fun as it is to sit and laugh about Bryan "being carried back to the midcard."

I can't and won't blame others for feeling the way they do, given WWE's tendency to provide unsatisfying conclusions after hot starts... That said, it all still is assumption and theory (again, reasonable) as opposed to 100% fact, so I'm still hoping for a hot finish for Bryan.

The problem for me is that they have bungled this angle so badly that I don't even care if that's the case, I just want it to be over.

I want to say "It'll work out and we'll get a payoff where the wronged babyface wins and gets elevated, where the guy the crowd is popping for becomes a main eventer. However, I've seen this movie before, with the same villains, and the villains always win.
Rooting for a new babyface in the main event WWE picture has become like rooting for the campers in Friday the 13th.

I also took Cena mentioning Bryan at the start of the show as a good sign.

I think we're all going to be skeptical until we actually see Punk or Bryan above Cena consistently.

I also took Cena mentioning Bryan at the start of the show as a good sign. same here. You just don't march down to the ring in front of Steph and Hunter and talk about the crowd chanting for Daniel Bryan as an insult towards Orton unless they ok it. If Cena went off script Steph/HHH would have had some snotty comeback. this gives me hope.

Cena could say anything he wanted and, as long as he's the cash cow, no way there are repercussions. If my choices are D-Bry in the main event as Cena's "Gilligan" or him being shoved to the mid-card and having great matches, I think I'd rather have the latter.

I think we're all going to be skeptical until we actually see Punk or Bryan above Cena consistently. We had a string of consecutive episodes of Raw & SmackDown closing out with Punk and Bryan in the main event slot over Cena (not counting last night). I still have a bit of hope.

I think we're all going to be skeptical until we actually see Punk or Bryan above Cena consistently. If this happens, I'd want it to be through dialing back on Cena. I don't really want Bryan and/or Punk to get such an overbearing "Poochie" push that people start turning against them from overexposure/winning all the time.

Cena calling Bryan little buddy and whacking him with his hat sounds hilarious to me.
