Put him in a big match and he hangs with, if not performs better than, a lot of his opponents. I just wonder if injuries accumulating on him will unfortunately speed up his time table down the line.

I understand that mentality, but I don't agree with it. One of the great things about the wrestling industry is the fact that you can hang on and be successful far pass your physical prime--without being embarrassing, even.

If the trend of the last 30 years is anything to bank on, Cena and Orton will still be on the active roster for Wrestlemania 40, at the very least.

Cena will only retire when he dies, and even then....

He'll never retire. He's a company man through and through. As long as they can milk his name, he'll be around. It's not like they have a new wave of stars ready to take his place (and that's entirely the fault of WWE management).

I think Cena will do what HHH did. Just gradually phase out wrestling and wrestle occasional big matches. I could also see him becoming a GM or something like that to keep him on-screen without him wrestling.

He's only 36 and pro wrestlers prime earning ages usually start now. I mean he's been luck since he's been pushed early thus it might not be true for him but Wrestlers hang on longer because its a scripted event and they could pace themselves better then athletes who have to actually compete against younger faster foes

Yeah, as soon as I read the thread title I immediately imagined him pulling a Flair and saying he was going to die in the ring.
Fact is the guy simply does pretty much whatever the higher ups ask of him without any objections, and he keeps making them assloads of money so they don't feel the need to change anything. I'd hate to say he's not going anywhere unless something horrible happens in a match, but the way things are trending with how WWE uses him, it seems like that's how things are going to go.

If he sticks with the plan of retiring when he thinks he can't keep up... and has a serious notion of where he is physically (since I'm sure Hogan thinks he can still go...) more power to him.
But I do think he will slowly phase into a part timer like Triple H or the Undertaker rather than ever leave wrestling all together first.

I think he has between 6 and 10 years left, depending on how many injuries he rushes back from

I see Cena eventually phasing himself out of the picture and taking some sort of corporate role with WWE in the future. Not exactly at Triple H's level obviously, but I think when he decides to hang up the boots, he'll still be employed by WWE.

I honestly think he can go to Vince and ask to do like 1 house tour a month and Vince will agree to it. Yet Cena still goes out there every weekend and wrestles those 15 minute main event matches. And it's probably not even for money since I'm sure Vince is very generous to Cena in terms of salary. I think this guy is legit nuts and might not stop working full time until his body collapse on him and he has to retire. I'll say that's more likely than him on his own being phased out.

He will be in the ring until he needs to make a reality show which tries to make Nikki Jr as a pop star brotha.

I'm just going to predict.... he will be 37 in April, so I'm going to say..... John Cena will retire from wrestling full time at the age of 41 - in 2018. He will do Mania matches until he is 45 (2022), and then become Raw GM around that time. After that, he will get a Legends deal and also be a talent scout, basically taking the Johnny Ace spot. He will enter the WWE Hall of Fame in 2024 at the age of 57, at Wrestlemania XXXX. He will wrestle his last match ever in 2034, at the age of 67, at Wrestlemania 50. It will be against Ric Flair.

I half expected the answer to be this. He goes "NEVER!", we hear "BRRRRRRRRR APPLEDOUGH!", flips the table, poses and walks out.
