To put it more precise, if for some reason Vince lost the wwe and was pushed out(or if the E went out of business), would he able to build a big company again? This is also assuming he only had the money to start a ROH sized company.
I ask this because any time anybody criticizes the wwe and praises an indy fed, you always get somebody saying "if the wwe is so bad how come their still in business, and [insert indy fed] isn't on tv?" One time when I pointed out that Vince had a successful, regional fed and it was a time that was ripe for going national, or that indy feds today would face astronomical odds in trying to be on tv, answering the question was completely avoided by one person.
So would a starting over-Vince be able to succeed in this days current environment?

Not now, he's too old. The tactics he used in the 1980s to grow WWE into what it is today wouldn't work in this environment. You would need someone with a new vision.

Hell no. He had the WWWF handed it to him and every other venture he tried on his own failed.

How'd he lose it? Strip Malls or one turn of pitch and toss?

Not to be morbid, but I think if Vince got pushed out he will die soon after. This man's last 20 years have been all about this company and if it's taken away from him, I'm not sure Vince will find a reason to live.

He's pushing 70. If he was younger I'd say maybe/yes, but at this age he's slowly phased out from being a control freak 24/7 and is just a part time control freak next to HHH. With that in mind I seriously doubt he'd be able to go from 0 to top of the world again.

Worth noting too that alot of the tactics Vince used back in the day to further build the empire he was given could either get him into legal trouble, or are flat out considered illegal in this day and age.
Also he's not dealing with a bunch of carnies he can easily con and cloak & dagger anymore. He'd be dealing with actual businessmen & businesswomen and if history has taught us anything, it's that on average businessmen and businesswomen tend to be able to see through Vince's bullshit. Why his ventures outside of wrestling tend to bomb.

I don't think Vince knows how promoting and producing actually works nowadays as compared to when he first started. If he decided to do it all on his own, he'd sink like a stone. But I think as out of touch and crazy as he is, he would at least recognise that, so he'd hire somebody who does know. Whatever happens next would rest just as much on that person's shoulders as on his own.

I think Vince with the right guidance could make a nice penny with an online, subscription based streaming site consisting of the insane library of wrestling he has. That's probably about his limit though.
