Maybe they should have picked him as the face of the company. Would have been an awesome feud with Daniel Bryan. Corporate Punk would have been hilarious. For some reason I picture Corporate Punk being dressed like Vince and doing the Vince power walk around the ring.

They could have got a lot of mileage out of corporate Punk, because it's such a contrast to his normal persona. Orton on the other hand is just boring

The problem with Punk reaching his peak so early and wanting to retire so early, compared to other wrestlers, is that he isn't overly naturally athletic. Most stars play some sort of college sport, or have the genes of an athlete. Punk is just an above-average physical specimen (compared to the general population) with one of the greatest minds for pro wrestling we've ever seen, forced to work a demanding style due to his size and the era he came up in. It's really a shame, because Punk is one of the greatest minds we will ever have the benefit of seeing.
