Does anyone have the full match, including entrances? I read that Dynamite couldn't walk to the ring fresh out of back surgery so had to link arms and be carried, essentially, by Davy Boy. Just wanted to see how that looked, if it was obvious or if they covered it well.

I'm pretty sure the carrying thing, if it happened, wasn't shown on TV. Finkle starting announcing the match when the Harts were already in the ring, and while the Bulldogs were already on the floor.

I don't think the full match with entrances has ever been released. All I've seen is what molson5 has already described with Dynamite already laid out on the floor.

I remember seeing the match on YouTube when I read the book, I think in 2009/2010. It didnt show the entrance, but showed Dynamite getting hurt.

Ah okay, thanks anyway. It's quite morbid I suppose but it would have been interesting to see.

I am at work with no access to youtube, but I am almost certain the entire match was shown on TV. Bret and Jim were introduced first while Davey carrying Dynamite piggy back style came down to the ring with Matilda. They then did the spot where Dynamite was laid out with the megaphone and the match continued as a handicap match. I distinctly remember seeing Dynamite being carried piggy-back.

I have the original WWF Superstars broadcast on VHS. They started the match after the commercials, with Dynamite already "laid out" with the megaphone. They never showed the piggy back, or even alluded to Dynamite having an injury. They introduced the Harts, commercial, the they return with Dynamite on the floor being admonished by Danny Davis, (we're told he was laid with the megaphone) while Davey Boy wrestles a handicap match against both Harts.
That said, I was at the Hamilton house show where Dynamite got hurt. He took a weird bump in the buckles in a title defense against Orton & Muraco. And Davey pretty much worked the rest of the match. And Dynamite was replaced for the next while by JYD.

It's been a long time but I remember watching Superstars on a Sat morning and seeing the full match. The Bulldogs were my absolute favorite team and I was upset seeing dynamite being carried in.

I stand corrected. But I swear, I saw either footage of maybe a still of Davey carrying Dynamite piggyback to the ring for some match. As it turns out, it wasn't this match.

I want to say that I've seen pictures or video of Dynamite being carried as well, perhaps it's just one of those quirks of memory where if you hear something often enough you believe that you saw it though.

And Dynamite was replaced for the next while by JYD. I went to Youtube to look for what Gorilla was asking and found the match from the old Hart Foundation VHS. Besides some guy blabbing over the whole beginning about the Harts, once he leaves and we hear the original commentary, Vince says something to the effect of, "Dynamite has apparently been hit". Which indicates, A) That match probably never aired "in full" and B) Vince wasn't paying any damn attention to the match, even he seemed surprised Dynamite was laid out. I'm not sure why they'd ever show the full match if they had the tape. Why show Dynamite being carried out? No reason to make him look like a joke before a title match.

I remember seeing the match as a kid, but I don't remember the carrying out part. I swear I remember seeing Dynamite getting hit with the megaphone, but I could be wrong. I do remember him laying on the ground the entire match and Davey wrestling on his own.

Hart striking Dynamite was definitely shown on TV at some point. Here, Gorilla goes to a "special video tape" of the title match - the title of video says it's from "Superstars", but this version must have actually aired on Wrestling Challenge, because Gorilla and Heenan are doing commentary before going to a tape of the match featuring Vince on commentary. Dynamite just has to kind of stand there awkwardly on the floor as his partner fights in the ring for a few seconds until Hart can hit him. www.youtube.com/watch?v=532F1NgaUag

If Dynamite was injured and they wanted him to appear they should have done a backstage attack and then have Davey carry him out and have the attack mentioned heavily. It can even be used down the road for the WrestleMania match where Davis' turn is mentioned. Another option would be to do an attack and not have Dynamite come out or do the Summerslam 90 deal (Rockers) where the attack happens near the ring but in Dynamite's case, do it as soon as he comes out to avoid him doing any much physical work. You're right, it does make him look like a joke, weak, especially if no backstory was given.
