Cena will win in the usual, totally predictable fashion. And since this is the "Unified Championship" and not the "Undisputed Championship" we can hear how Cena is the first ever Unified WWE Champion. Or Triple H when he pulls a swerve. I do think that they were hinting way too obviously at the each guy grabs a belt screwy ending (the word choices were at total Chekov's Gun situation) and someone thought it was clever enough to get past. THen when they reaized, with lots of shock I would imagine, that people actually saw a string of screwjobs followed by that phrasing and concluded that hey, they might do another screwy ending for the 4th month in a row, and changed things up. THis way we can still get a screwy ending (and we will have shenanigans aplenty), but not the screwy ending that we all saw coming. My over/under on run ins is 6, and I'm taking the over. Yes, from listening to Meltzer. The original plan was another Orton-Big Show match for TLC. But because the feud has been a huge flop. They changed everything following Survivor Series. At first they probably were going to do some screwy, title swap finish. Then realizing the fans can see this coming from a mile away, they booked themselves into a corner and now have no choice but to actually deliver a unified champ.

Me!
In my head it should be a fun overbooked mess where everybody who has been involved in the authority storyline should be involved. The Shield, The Wyatts, a beaten down Punk and Bryan, Cody and Goldust, The Usos, Maddox, Kane etc. Maybe even do the both get a belt spot and have the match restarted. In the end HHH swerves everybody and attacks Orton and helps Cena become his new corporate champion, it makes sense as Cena really is what's best for business and has said the unified title would mean everything to him.
However I thought loads of matches should be the good kind of sports entertainment mess (like Vince vs Shane) but turned out terribly, especially when it involved Orton be that vs HHH at WM or vs Big Show at the last PPV. They've also teased the Cena heel turn too many times now for it to be effective way of selling the match.
Therefore in conclusion no swerves in a match that should be full of them.

I wonder, has anyone ever just run in at someone else's ladder match, grabbed the belt and ran out with it? Is there a no-contest rule for ladder matches? Would one of them automatically become champion the next time they physically touch the belt since the match doesn't officially end until someone has it?

I'm utterly convinced there will be a swerve.

This is the same company that "guaranteed" that no one would interfere in any match during Survivor Series too. I'm just saying. They said PHYSICALLY interfere... no one physically interfered. They came out... it's their company they can go where they want.

Usually when WWE goes out of their way to clarify there won't be a swerve I just assume a swerve is coming.

I think HHH pushes both men off the ladder and makes himself Unified Champion because he can. This is just gonna retcon the last 4 years, and it'll be like 2009 all over again. HHH, Cena and Orton all vying for the title....next week's guest host.........Kelly Rippa's PA.

I mean, they were physically there. Yeah, but they didn't do anything. They only distracted Big show they didn't actually physically get into the ring and slap Big Show or something. Which doesn't count as interfering as people do that all the time and aren't disqualified for it.

I can see Triple H helping Cena, Cena swears he's not in on it, and the whole locker room turns their backs on him. The other wrestlers tell him he should give up the title if he really wasn't, but he refuses. From there a heel turn would be great, but it would probably end in all the wrestlers realizing that Cena is, indeed, a swell guy.
