When was the last first blood match? Should there be another one again?

I really hate first blood matches. I don't see why an extreme rules match won't just outright be better than first blood matches.

I believe the last one was JBL vs. John Cena at One Night Stand 2008.

I'm not really a big fan of these types of matches. Usually, when blood is drawn in a match, it adds a little more intensity to the match and makes it really feel like one of the wrestlers is in bad shape, yet is still going. In a "First Blood" match, all that happens is that someone has to draw blood in order to lose, which in video games, it feels too easy.

First Blood matches and Tables matches are really weak stipulations to me, so I'm glad they've been phased out over the years. Getting beaten bloody or going through a table should organically happen during the match, if you know that's the planned outcome from the start it takes out all the excitement. Also I've always felt like it doesn't really prove anything about the winner's ability. A pinfall is a pinfall, but breaking a table or a nose means nothing if the other guy is still standing afterwards.

I would hope so, because a First Blood match without blading would be really lame.
That, and First Blood matches are a disaster waiting to happen considering the possibility of someone getting busted open hardway halfway through the match.

A tables match should be about psychology, building towards the wrestler being put through a table or any near misses. It can't be helped if some modern workers can't tell a story.

That's not psychology thought that's 'who'll go through the table first'. Psychology is about using pre-determined emotional investment in the characters to illicit reaction from the crowd to events that happen in the ring and guiding the fans through the journey/story of the match. Just like a series of near falls isn't 'psychology', it is merely cheap heat. As is the table thing.

You won't get the 3 on the Hulkster with that kind of lackadaisical cover. Sorry, I like to pretend you're really Gorilla Monsoon.

Nah, they're not needed. I wouldn't mind a hardcore rules Iron Man match where blading is allowed though.

One of the wrestlers gets busted wide open, and just as the ref is about to call for the bell, the match is stopped by the ringside doctor.

There's no need for blood AND those matches sucked. JBL vs. Cena from 2008 in a first blood match may have been one of the most boring matches I've ever seen; all that happens is people being hit, hiding their head, the ref checks them, says no & it continues. Ended when JBL spewed fake blood instantly while in an STF. Complete ass.
I am glad they did away with those matches, because they sucked. I Quit matches suck these days too but that's not the fault of the actual stipulation, unlike the first blood. John Cena has played a huge part in ruining the I Quit match over the years because of his style; get beat up until it's time for the superhuman comeback & it doesn't play well in those matches when Cena gets his ass kicked for 20 minutes before making Orton & Miz tap out almost instantly to an STF.

First Blood matches are the most pointless of pointless blade jobs, because you don't get any drama out of it. It's literally, oh, cut yourself, you lose. At least in a regular hardcore match if someone is busted open you can get some imagery and drama out of it, but blading as the literal last spot of the match is so f***ing stupid.
