Also, will it ruin the Lord Tensai gimmick even more?
Really though, I can't see Tensai lasting taht much longer. Than again comedy characters can have an incredibly long shelf life in WWE.
If he's released will he go back to Japan? They seem to not really give a shit if a tough dude had a goofy gimmick as long as he can still work stiff.

He'll stick around as an agent/trainer. He seems to be very respected backstage.

yeah I don't think he's going away any time soon. if they needed another big guy midcard face they could easily just have him go by Sweet T or even start being Albert again.

He should be released in 3...2...1 and he's gone.

Around 18 months until his contract runs out, so I'd guess he won't go anywhere anytime soon. Probably won't be featured much on TV, but NXT guys could always benefit learning from a guy that got over with a hairy back and pierced nipples.

Beats the hell out of me why they aren't pushing Tons of Funk as a real tag-team.

Tensai is pretty good on commentary. He could just do that.

Dude's made over $500K this year. I'm sure he won't be too broken-hearted about it.

He'll stick around as an agent/trainer. He seems to be very respected backstage. He is VERY respected by fellow wrestlers. Lance Storm said he never felt safer working with a big man than he did Albert, and that is high praise considering Storm has worked with a lot of guys, and is held in high estimation himself. Albert/Tensai is also very often named among "nicest guys" in wrestling. It is safe to say he is well liked.

They should keep him around. Guy puts on good matches, solid big man wrestler, he's a veteran presence and that's always important to have on the roster, good at commentary and even when ToF split, there's so much you can do with him.

Yeah, I don't think Tensai's going anywhere. I think he'll go into the William Regal role. Hugely respected veteran who's dependable in the ring and will take on pretty much any role. He'll help out backstage as an agent, go down to the performance centre and help train, do what he does now on NXT as well as occasionally feud with someone down there to put them over. Sweet T's staying.

I know a lot of people are saying he should've stayed in Japan, but he was in Japan for a pretty long time and I think he mentioned his primary motivation for coming back was his family, so I really can't blame him. He's in a good spot right now, doesn't really need to be really high up the card, and if push comes to shove they can always do with him what they did with Mark Henry between Kool-Aid and Hall of Pain.

He should stay a face without the fat guy dancing comedy. Tensai doesn't need it. He should just be a straight up badass face who demolishes his opponents. Kinda like how Ryback was when he first arrived, except with less of a monster push.

Yeah I agree with everybody saying there will be a place for him at NXT for quite some time, well assuming he's willing to take a paycut the next time his contract renewal comes around (I seem to remember him being quite a high earner).

Brodus is holding him back. He needs to get out the of the team and have a nice singles run.

Sweet T isn't going anywhere. If he was going to be let go as a failed experiment, he wouldn't been on tv long enough to have Sakamoto dropped.

I don't expect him to be an on screen character after the contract expires, unless he is to be jobbed out to new people.

Tensai will definitely be a trainer in NXT once he's done.
He should have come in as a Heyman guy instead of a giant ninja.

He lasted a number of years in his original run, just kept getting renamed and moved to different teams.
Same will happen this year. If he doesn't make a splash with Brodus, they'll put him with someone else and the carousel will keep going.
If I were Vince I would just release a guy after three attempts at not getting over. Albert had his three attempts in early 2000s.
