So Evan Bourne has been injured for about 14 years now since losing the I Quit match to Dan 'The Beast' Severn, but I'm sure he'll be back eventually.
So how do we think the fans will react?

That'd be really tough to explain following last Monday's RAW. Hunico is way bigger and has a huge tattoo.

Well, if they didn't fire the old Sin Cara yet, you can bring the guy who does some crazy flips on NXT, Bourne, keep Hunico and bring back old Sin Cara, and baam, rainbow sin cara stable! And then they have people join them via zombie movie spoof segments.

He gets a decent pop, and as he walks down the aisle he falls and breaks his ankle. Blood starts gushing out of it, inexplicably, as medics rush to his side. They start slipping and falling because of the blood pool, landing on Bourne and breaking more of his body parts on impact.
We cut to commercial, as Bourne is released during the break.

Return from commercial, Bourne standing in the ring with a big cheesy smile as Cole says a few words about his return, then a main eventer comes out and beats him in a relatively quick match.

Trick question: Dude's not returning. This. Dude is done. WWE has a guy who does everything he can do and, as far as we know anyway, isn't a pothead in Adrian Neville. They also got Samuray Del Sol in the wings. That said, if he were to come back, he'd get a decent reaction. Nothing that would blow the roof off the place but an average mid-card babyface reaction.

He won't be coming back. His main draw was the style he wrestled, with how badly he injured his foot he's going to have to work differently. When you have a guy that's kinda small, has no mic skills and wrestles a more restricted style it's not a recipe for success. The second some of the notable high flyers debut down in NXT he'll be nothing but an echo.

Yeah, Bourne screwed up, and Neville and Kalisto are better talents. But At the very least, Bourne could stick around and relieve them of jobbing duties so that they can get bigger pushes. If Bourne pays for his sins by being a spoke on the Wheel of Aggression, Neville and Kalisto don't have to.

I think it all depends on how WWE want to handle him. If they hype his return and highlight the crazy shit he does, remind people of him, I think he gets a good welcome. Just throwing him out there though, yeah, he's looking at a Conway pop at best, hell he might even get Mahal'd until he starts hitting his big spots.
