Because if you book him as a true giant, people won't be happy with the results. A giant rarely is suppose to leave his feet much less get pinned. A giant competes in handicap matches and win them barely breaking a sweat. Only the elite can stand a chance against him and even then they more than likely will lose to him clean. WWE at different points made him into a true giant. People here didn't like it because he was near invincible. Which is how he suppose to be booked.

Because he's allowed himself to be a comedy figure too much. A big guy like that should be booked like a killer that everyone is afraid of.
His character should take no shit from anyone, but he allowed himself to be seen taking a shit.
Andre wouldn't have done that, or Big John Studd, or Earthquake, or even Vader.

To be fair, Big Show DID ultimately win the feud and walked away with the U.S. Title. And he was a big enough threat that he "made" Cena at WM20. I think Cena's U.S. Title win over Big Show meant more in the grand scheme of things than his 1st WWE Title win did because it really put Cena over as the guy who "overcomes the odds". Also Cena lifting the Big Show was more visually impressive then than it was in previous times because Cena was pretty scrawny at that point.
