A year ago, I made this thread taking a poll on WWE's best opening logos: officialfan.proboards.com/thread/415474/favorite-wwf-opening-signature
And well, they decided to have a new signature, so here's an updated version:
"Recognized Symbol of Excellence" (80s)
The classic intro with the WWF logo in space amidst an energetic pop-esque soundtrack. A voice tells us rightfully that the World Wrestling Federation is the recognized symbol of excellence in sports entertainment.
"What The World is Watching" (early 90s)
Flying WWF logo against the sea, and later, the sky, as Mean Gene tells us that the WWF is what the world is watching.
"For Over 50 Years...V1.0" (1995?)
Crystalized WWF logo against a gradient background, as a voice proclaims the WWF to be the revolutionary force in sports entertainment for over fifty years.
"For Over 50 Years...V2.0" (1995?)
WWF logo etched on a stone, again featuring a voice telling us about the WWF's claim to fame as the revolutionary force in sports entertainment for over fifty years.
"For Over 50 Years...V3.0" (1996)
As we're told again that the WWF is the revolutionary in sports entertainment, the WWF logo floats into view against thunder and lightning. There were two versions, one with a red background and another with silver instead, but they're essentially the same logo.
"The Worldwide Leader" (1997)
The WWF's global reach is listed as an array of images appear to back-up this evidence. We're told that the WWF is the worldwide leader in sports entertainment.
"Attitude Seizures" (1998)
No doubt an iconic signature on its own, a fast set of images and words appear on-screen, telling us about the WWF's new attitude.
"Attitude/Entertainment" (2002)
The first new signature under the WWE name, as we see programming against a globe, and more random crowd shots, before finally ending with "Attitude", "Entertainment", and the WWE logo itself. (On Raw, a variant featuring a mugshot of Eric Bischoff replacing the WWE logo was used, with crowd booing in the background).
"The Power Is Back/The Champ Is Here" (2005)
I know this had many variations, but it's still the same idea for the intro, so I'm just listing them as one. Classic WWF/E moment and soundclips get ready to introduce us to the night's event.
"Then. Now. Forever." (2012-Current)
Pictures of the men and women who've shaped WWE's history are seen at a rapid pace as a pleasant piano/percussion beat plays throughout. The WWE logo then appears against a white background as "Then, Now, Forever" fade in next to it in succession.
