Of those, the Shield match is the only one that's really memorable.
Figures.

Figures that they don't put the actual Match of the Year (Cena/Punk) on there. The matches they have listed there are okay, but none scream Match of the Year to me.

WTF?
No Punk vs. Lesnar? No Punk vs. Cena? No Bryan vs. Rollins? No Bryan vs. Cena? No Bryan vs. Real Americans/Ryback (gauntlet match)?
You could also put just about any of the Shield's 6-man tags in there as well. This is an awful list.

John Cena vs The Rock is not only an undeserving candidate for Match of the Year, it was straight up rubbish.

Novelty is a huge draw. I'd have no issues if Punk/Taker, Cena/Rock and HHH/Brock were actually good though. They were solid, maybe fun - that's it.

I think it's safe to say when it's time for us to pick our match of the year for the yearly awards article, chances are it won't be one of these four.

Didn't care all too much for Punk and Taker. I hope Shield vs Rhodes Brothers win this one.

Cena/Punk and Lesnar/Punk are undoubtedly 2 of the best 3 matches this year, imo. The other one being Punk/Taker. Damn, Punk has had a great year, hasnt he? Anyways, weird list, and I'll be very disappointed if it goes to one of the middle two. The Rhodes/Shield match was too fun to hate on if it wins.

If WWE.com decides to have a list this year, I expect it to be much better.

I can agree with showing Rhodes Family/Shield as a good recent example of emotion really playing a factor into a match. Of the four, I'd probably say its the best match. Taker/Punk was alright, but entirely predictable. Cena/Rock wasn't that good, and felt like an ROH match with each guy kicking out of like 5 finishers each. HHH/Lesnar is something I honestly don't remember anything about (I remember parts of their Mania match, but not Extreme Rules) Rhodes/Shield was another alright match, but the emotion behind it really made it a great match.
