The source and nature of the criticism would matter, but I think I'd largely avoid it and would focus more on feedback from my peers, but realistically, it would happen eventually.

"You suck, Magiconz!"
"Tell that to the 100,000 people that watched me win the title in the Garden."
"...Does the Garden even hold 100,000 people?"
"IT DID THAT NIGHT!"

Logically
Challenging critics to do better or get into the ring is the worst thing a wrestler can do.
When faced with smarkish criticism, be a smark.

You know, if the people who are paying to watch you perform think that you're doing something wrong or in a bad way, you'd hope you'd at least look at it critically. They may be right, after all.

In the most immature way possible, of course.

I've had this discussion before, not being a dick and saying "You suck, I hate watching you wrestle." but rather I've said "Man, you're matches seem drag at points and you miss some of those serious high spots."
Generally I'm met with "Thanks man, I'm working on it. I'll look over the tape." but I did have one guy who CONSTANTLY missed his high spots respond with "Man, I know what I'm doing out there. You're not in the ring, you don't know shit." This same guy broke his arm when he missed a dive to the outside.

Bury them in a promo immediately before the promotion's lowest-tier champion beats me in a 5 second squash. No, wait, I would dedicate my next match to a kid with cancer in the front row. 'This is for you little buddy!' then eat a finisher and lose immediately.

Like Goldberg or Lesnar, threaten to kill everyone on it. The reasonable way.

Like Goldberg or Lesnar, threaten to kill everyone on it. The reasonable way. With Lesnar though, that's the way he says thank you, and appreciates it. When all he says is "Okay", then it's time to change your identity.
