I have no doubt that both the Shield vs. Punk and the Wyatts vs. Bryan will be fine matches with both having the potential to be the match of the night, but there's no need for two.
Firstly, it cheapens the gimmick of the match itself. We should rarely see a match of this kind, yet we're seeing two in the same night.
Secondly, it really illustrates the lack of creativity from the writing staff as they're juxtaposing what is essentially one version of the same feud with the other. It was always going to keep difficult to keep the Wyatts and Shield distinct from one another, but this is pretty much throwing in the towel. The story is the same: Popular babyface has odds stacked up against him by trio faction of heels with questionable motives.
I'm not off-base in finding this incredibly lazy, am I?

not really. its not a blowoff match, just another point in their feuds and its the heels trying to screw over the faces because they can, so it makes sense

The thing that sucks is I predict the worst results for both matches.
I wouldn't be surprised if Punk beat the Shield, followed by them splitting up.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the Wyatts beat Bryan, followed by Bryan turning heel or being absorbed into their cult.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the Wyatts beat Bryan, followed by Bryan turning heel or being absorbed into their cult. I don't really have an issue with there being to 3 on 1 matches, but as per the above post I have concerns with what the result might be. Punk and Bryan both have to lose or else it kills either heel faction (unless there is major outside interference); and the Bryan turning heel scenario you outline above is my biggest fear from the whole thing as that would make zero sense. Best case scenario I can think of: Punk distracts one of the Wyatts allowing Bryan to score a sneaky roll up victory. Seeking revenge the Wyatts then come out to get Punk but accidentally cost the Shield the match, leading to them feuding. The other scenario for the Punk v Shield match that is pure fantasy booking is Austin comes out and helps Punk, only for Punk to hit him with the GTS or for Austin to Stunner Punk.

One is too many. One on three matches are not fun, ever, and they're just lazy storytelling.

Not really. Since Punk and Bryan are kinda technically aligned, it makes a bit of sense that they're being "punished" by the Authority with equally stacked handicap matches.

In Bryan's case, I could see them trying something where Bryan loses, gets abducted and "brainwashed" by the Wyatts, and is part of their group for a little bit. But, it turns out it was ALL A RUSE! and Daniel Bryan was never successfully brainwashed, and he takes out Bray Wyatt from within his own cult. Not saying it wouldn't be dumb as shit, I just think they're in "give Bryan something to do but keep him away from the main event because this that and the other bad reason" mode.

I started that thread about Punk "burying" people as much as Cena does. Get ready for it Shield.

I'm sure the Bryan match will be awesome. Not so sure about the Punk one.

I'm pretty sure that the Punk vs. Shield match is to further build towards a Shield split, with Punk winning due to a miscommunication on the Shield's part.

I'm actually hoping that the Shield vs. Punk match results in it being either a Reigns or Ambrose vs. Punk match. With the reasoning being that one of the two decides they want a match against Punk one on one. In Reigns' case, to prove himself. In Ambrose's case, because he's arrogant enough to think he can take down Punk by himself.
Whichever one, I'd have Punk defeat them. Setting up some tension, ideally by Ambrose thinking Reigns was an idiot for trying to be honorable & go it alone or Reigns and Rollins being annoyed Ambrose's ego cost them again.
Then I'd have Bryan get beat down by the Wyatts, ideally with the Wyatts being such crazed animals that they end up getting themselves disqualified while destroying him. Not sacrificing them in the loss and also putting over their gimmick.
The upside too is that Punk and Bryan further frustrate the Authority and continue to make them want to screw with them.

I honestly don't believe WWE would have a straight up 3 on 1 match on a ppv, much less 2 if them. Some kind of shenanigans will take place to change the matches or combine it to a 6 on 2 and even then... I'm not saying it's not gonna be an episode of Raw or that I'd bet this might happen, but I sure as hell won't be paying $60 bucks to find out...

Both matches will mesh I think. Punk and Bryan will take on both factions in gauntlet fashion. Shield loses, Wyatts wins. The old band breaks up while the new band gets stronger while Punk and or Bryan won't lose heat.

Bryan and Punk have been smarter then the average babyface recently, I'm half expecting them just to show up together with chairs and dare The Shield and Wyatts to step up.

I have a slight feeling there will be something that happens during the PPV to stop one of the 3-on-1 matches from happening.
Possibly Bryan joining the Wyatt's or something.
Might sound far fetched but yeah... I don't see Bryan winning in any situation.

I'm surprised we haven't had something like Punk or Bryan picking apart their respective enemies one-by-one or something.
