{Spoiler}I'd be more inclined to believe it's a work if they hadn't already taped AJ losing his TNA Title to Magnus. Wouldn't you do a whole tease of him leaving and not coming back BEFORE the conclusion to his big angle as opposed to after?

So if AJ has resigned... Then why in God's name do you... {Spoiler}{Spoiler for Upcoming Impact! WARNING!}Do you have AJ just drop the belt to Magnus with very little build up?

WZ is up there with Rajah and LoP in top NEWZ sites. Don't trust them at all.
Anyway, PWInsider has a one hour interview up with AJ in their elite section. I have it downloaded but haven't had a chance to hear it yet.

More sketchy, unconvincing stuff, but I saw it on 411mania and figured I'd post it here. {Spoiler}TNA's original offer to AJ Styles was said to be around $200,000 per year. This is lower than the $350,000 he allegedly earned in 2013 and is the deal he turned down. The new offer wasn't even a guaranteed $200,000, but a "per appearance" deal, which means that if TNA cuts back on live events, he would make even less.
Several reports, including Wrestlezone and Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer, report that TNA finally offered Styles what he wanted and he resigned. He should be back on TNA TV soon.

This whole thing being a real negotiation (however it works out) is the only way that the spoilers for the coming weeks make any sense.

So basically the rumor of him making close to half a mil was correct then. A poster here said Keller wrote AJ makes $90K. I found that hard to believe. I believe guys like Joe and AJ Styles all make the same amount of money or close to it. Mid to high six figure salaries.
I think the way it goes is Sting and Angle are paid by Spike, while guys like Joe and AJ are paid by TNA.

He's going back to TNA? So basically AJ Styles has surpassed Sting as the dumbest wrestler in history.

I looked through every page but don't recall if it was said but...
If he did go to WWE he wouldn't be called "AJ" with them having AJ Lee. Perhaps a crazy Michael McGillicutty name would have been in order.

No because of the huge tattoo on his side they cant hide his name unless they reuse Kaval's suit they would probably would have called him Allen Jones.

Maybe it can be like Harley Race in WCW in 1990 with his king outfit and JR speculating he's a Sacramento Kings fan. I can see him being called AJ, perhaps, if AJ Lee wasn't such a star but no way he'd be AJ Styles in WWE now. He'd also have to wear a t-shirt or singlet.

He's being offered 200K a year and turning it down?
Either tax in the US is atrocious, or he's being stupidly greedy. I'd get breast implants just so I could give my left tit for HALF of that.

It was still less than what he was making before though. I can see how that can piss someone off. You work your ass off for a company, have been there since day one, ARE THE COMPANY'S WORLD CHAMPION, and the company wants you to take a paycut. That's a pretty big hit to your pride. If he is done with TNA, which recent news indicates that he's probably not, I can see why he would want to leave on principle alone. It also gives a pretty bad image of how the company is doing financially. It's not like it's WWE or bust. He could make damn decent money on the indie scene with the occasional tour outside of the country. He wouldn't be making as much but he wouldn't deal with all the bullshit that comes with working TNA.

I guess at the end of the day AJ has to ask himself if he's making TNA 350,000 dollars a year with everything he does for them.
TNA House Shows with him on top didn't draw (And none of the TNA originals really do), He'd of been well behind Hogan, Sting, Hardy, Angle and others in merchandise for the 2013 year.
You probably have a couple of hundred thousand people who tune in to see AJ week to week on TV but those people are going to stick around anyway. After that it basically leads to Pay Per Views and to be honest nobody buys them so AJ definitely isn't making them money there.
I'd take a guess he probably makes TNA around the 100-150k mark a year hence the reduced offer. AJ does come off as greedy here but TNA really should have held onto him regardless of the cost.
