When I say "overproduction", I'm not talking about backstage segment direction, or how scripted the wrestlers's lines allegedly are- this is just about how the show looks. The LED setup and the massive Wrestlemania sets, the general bright lighting of the shows, I don't see why so many have an issue with it. It's wrestling, it's supposed to be loud and garish.
I've read some remarks arguing a wrestling show should look a bit more low key with dimmer lighting except on the ring, and I don't think that'd do much for me. Even as a kid, I liked the neon WWF entrance from the 80s/early 90's, and while the Titantron was nice, I was always a bit let down when Raw went to the gritter "all steel" set during Attitude.
My one issue is that I'd like to see more PPV theme specific sets return, like WCW had with Bash At The Beach and Halloween Havoc. Aside from that, I like the loud ass current Raw/Smackdown set, it makes everything seem more "big time".

I don't mind the HD set
The only "over production" thing that really bothers me is the Wyatt's DICK!!!

There's nothing inherently wrong with the big stage.
But when you put big crap like the giant palm trees and the skyscrapers in the middle of the crowd THAT IMPAIRS THE VIEW OF THE SHOW THAT THEY PAID UPWARDS OF HUNDREDS, THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR SOME, TO ATTEND...yeah, the crap like that needs to go.
What they're doing now, it's just over-the-top. They don't need to drop it altogether, they just need to scale it back a little.

I do enjoy a dimmer and more basic set, it feels more like a wrestling show and it gives the performers a blank canvas to paint with their own colours. Currently very few performers are colourful enough stick out against such a bright set.

I like it. If you're the biggest wrestling company in the world, you might as well look like it.

I would just get rid of the red/blue crowd. It makes the crowd seem smaller.

I love the ridiculous overproduced stuff. Call me shallow, but I have a very, very hard time getting into indies because the production values over there are so bad. I love the lights and fancy crap.
That said, there are things the WWE does that annoy me like having the commentary repeat itself over and over and over again, the stupid flashbacks to moments that happened less than 30 minutes before, the recap of stuff in the app, all that...it's just boring.

The spectacle of WWE is often its saving grace when the writing is in the bin.

It might impair a small bit of the action if it goes outside but most stuff in the ring should be unobstructed

Which, honestly are going to be their no matter what they do so they may as well incorporate them into the set.

I like the big unique stages for stuff like Wrestlemania and PPV's but I feel like the Raw and Smackdown sets are boring and repetitive. Still, the sets don't bother me like everything else does. The crowd lighting, Sin Cara's lighting, music in backstage segments...that shit needs to go.

The only thing I don't like is that Smackdown, Raw and most of the PPV's sets are the same. Yeah that's the biggest issue, most of the time it feels like it could be any show in any arena in the world, even when they're in Madison Square Garden they often don't use the unique entrance way. There's nothing wrong with the big sets per se it would just be nice to have more variety.

I do like big, colourful sets but it seems ever since they went HD, all the sets have looked the same. I really thought the mini-trons looked awesome when they debuted the HD sets in 2008 because everyone had a very unique themed one but now it's just a random colour and design with a name slapped on it. And as seen on the Canadian feed during tonight's Raw, we get awkward commercial break spots thanks to The Wyatts' DEH! crap. some people think it's supposed to be DEATH! I believe it's "DERP!"

I was watching Royal Rumble 97 the other day and the entrance was to the right hand side of the screen. It seemed so weird since every show these days has them coming from the left.
