For all our frequent talk of Triple H burying people during this whole Authority angle, there have been some nice touches to it that I think could do with acknowledging.
On the mic, Trips has been... let's say shaky, because people have differing opinions, but he had a tendency in his matches back in the day to look dominant as hell even against babyfaces when he was a heel.
However just off the top of my head, recently he has shown himself to generally be afraid of confrontation by hiding behind The Shield and Randy Orton, sold Big Show's KO punch like death, sold Bryan's high knee like death and on Raw just this week, fell flat on his ass from one right hand from CM Punk - a guy he'd already had a one-sided feud with a couple of years back.
I'm not saying Triple H is perfect or anywhere near, but I don't think we're giving him quite enough credit for him actually trying to put people over, even on one-off occasions.

I've really enjoyed Corporate H personally. I know it's not a popular opinion but I have found him to be the one redeeming quality of this awful Authority storyline. And if they're going for HHH vs. Punk at the Rumble or 'Mania or whatever then I am pretty confident that Punk would go over. Then again, I've always been a HHH fan so I'm less harsh on him than others around here. I guarantee a Hunter vs. Punk match would be met with much trepidation.

You may have missed the part where he pedigreed the current WWE Champion and made it look easy.

He's done a pretty good job in the role.

You may have missed the part where he pedigreed the current WWE Champion and made it look easy. Well for one thing, I made a point of saying he's not done everything right (or 'right' in my own perspective) but the champion was caught off guard, and is generally being booked as a chickenshit sissy so I don't see why that's really a problem. It's just a heel fightin' a heel.

HHH can't be corporate suit AND bad ass wrestler.
The two are generally incompatible.

I am surprised that he has made himself so easily felled by offensive moves now, at least. I didn't expect him to do that.

Yeah I don't know where people get the idea of HHH burying people cam from
Oh you know, other than there being a huge unification match on Sunday, 20 former world champions in the ring and the show ends with HHH's music playing and him standing over someone looking angry because they shoved over his wife. In a sort of "The most important thing is me" way.
...so yeah other than making himself the most important thing of another 'go home' show angle for the PPV, he's not buried anyone.
...other than coming down and interfering in the Orton vs Bryan match
...oh and other than making an appearance during the Orton vs Big Show main event at Survivor Series.
So yeah other than still making most elements of the focus of the show about him - he deserves credit for not making EVERYTHING about him. His distance from the Diva's title scene is commendable and something that those pesky kids from the IWC won't recognise.

See, I would give him credit...if it wasn't for that one angle when Big Show knocked out Randy Orton and HHH, instead of looking fearful, had to be held back by his wife and be the big tough badass that has to be restrained. That's f***ing ridiculous. Either he's a suit or a badass, it makes no sense in the context of this storyline for him to be both. It's like it's in his blood or something. He can't look weak for too long. Now, I'll admit that I've enjoyed some of his work but I can't truly give him credit because he hasn't changed. He's the same HHH he's been for years.

Also, he's putting over people who were already over before this angle even began. Wow, what a great sacrafice.

Triple H deserves credit alright, credit for ruining Raw each and every week for the past few months.

Everyone has been damaged by the corporation storyline. Orton looks like a dick. One of the earliest things HHH said was that the WWE championship was his property, and Orton merely carries it. Yep, you better believe it. Big Show ended up looking like a fool in many ways. HHH said that Daniel Bryan was a B+ player, then booked him to be one, and of course Steph has to be the alpha female, making even the Divas champion look like a frightened girl by comparison. I've said before, the problem with HHH and Stephanie is that they are marks for their own characters. Neither of them grasp basic storytelling. If they wrote "Titanic", the ship would have no sold the iceberg.

His onscreen presence has been putting me to sleep since SummerSlam. I don't care about watching all of Raw or PPVs. And, for me, it's all directly related to the role HHH has assumed on TV.
The final segment of RAW was pretty entertaining this week, and this was my assessment of it when it was over:
-Triple H was a little jilted by the live crowd while he tried to speak. He came across like "Shaky" Vince McMahon. Which, for what it was worth was awesome. It added that True "Fan interaction" that has been deperately lacking.
But then...
-He basically no sold a signature move.
-KO'd the WWE Champion.
There's a slight Problem with those three points, You can't have Triple H assume a "Vince-type" role, not sell big moves & then crush the Champion.

I want this to happen.
