Rey is actually still using the Luchadores as his Tag Team gimmick... Big Show will be donning the Sin Cara mask for TLC.

Four over teams. Well.. okay, three.
Could have been worse. PTP and Matadores could have been added.

Seriously, if they aren't going to win the match, then why the f*** not have him come out as a Luchadore for a one off? Up his face value, easily, from one match.

Then again, it also seems to not be a gimmick match at all. Because I guess heaven forbid anything overshadow Orton / Cena. It's called good card booking. You rarely ever book something with the intent taking shine away from the main event. Yup. This. A novelty match is just that: a novelty. If not, you end up with TNA Lockdown, and a bunch of people nonsensically working with props that have nothing to do with their rivalry. We don't have 3 Royal Rumbles on one PPV. So one TLC match is good enough. Especially given the stakes.

So one TLC match is good enough. Especially given the stakes. It's not about needing a bunch of TLC matches. It's about making the entire card worth watching. What does the TLC PPV have to offer besides the main event? 2 weak handicap matches and a tag titles match that's been randomly thrown together last minute. And a ladder match isn't a TLC match. Well technically they could be the same, but they're usually booked very differently. So the WWE could have easily have built up a better tag team ladder match, and left Orton/Cena as the TLC match, and still kept the illusion that it's a "novelty match".

If not, you end up with TNA Lockdown, and a bunch of people nonsensically working with props that have nothing to do with their rivalry. We don't have 3 Royal Rumbles on one PPV. So one TLC match is good enough. Especially given the stakes. One TLC match is fine. But there's no reason to not do the other gimmicks seemingly entirely because they want this card to suck outside of the main event. And this show is surely going to suck - the miniscule chances of Orton / Cena being any good aside (honestly, I really don't even like the Cena / Edge TLC match that much, and Cena had WAAAAAAAAY better chemistry with Edge than he does with Orton), this show has basically zero chance of being any good with the card that it has right now. It's not like it'd hurt its chances of doing well. And honestly, the Chairs match is probably the most pointless gimmick of all time, and Table and Ladder matches have basically no mystique at this point. But you can do stupid high spots in it that'll at least keep the crowd alive and give people a reason to order the show. Like, as it stands, outside of the main event if you're okay with that, what reason is there to order this shit? We have two three on one handicap matches (be honest, can anyone think of an outright good handicap match that wasn't Rock & Sock / Evolution?), a tag match that'll probably be decent but with the addition of some weapons could probably be great, a divas match that'll likely run five minutes and is basically only there to advertise their stupid reality show, a filler IC title match to keep up the appearance that the Intercontinental title and Damien Sandow have any credibility left at this point, and... That's it. There is zero reason to order this show outside of the main event, and they should be doing everything they can to make this show an enticing buy even without taking into account how people've been shitting on that and clamoring for a guy not in the match or even involved with the storyline.

I understand the sentiment behind wanting more ladder matches or tables matches etc. on the card. But the problem is, the main event is a match that encompasses all the weapons in one contest. Its not the Extreme Rules PPV wherein there can be some unconnected match-types. Clogging the card with too many similar gimmick matches makes the main event less special, and despite a certain portion of the fanbase not really wanting to see it (and perhaps right fully so), the unification match is the priority and draw.
The undercard should have just been better fleshed out. I'd personally have had Bryan and Punk face the Shield and The Wyatt's in some sort of gauntlet wherein you could tell the same story of both men being outnumbered, but fighting to win. I'd have booked it to start with The Wyatt's (Rowan & Harper) getting purposely DQ'd for using chairs. Then Bryan and Punk have to face Rollins and Reigns with the assumption that they're the last team. I'd have a long match therein where somehow Bryan and Punk squeak out the win, only to find out that Stephanie booked Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose as the last team, who subsequently pick the bones and win (while teasing a few hope spots, and even Wyatt and SHIELD dissension in the process.). I'd have this then lead to Punk and Bryan being picked as Number 1 & 2 in the Rumble thereafter, as it becomes more and more apparent that the Authority is trying to f*** them over.
As for the rest of TLC, I suspect it'll just be a straight card, which is fine with me. Like I said earlier, The Royal Rumble is one match, with an undercard, so I don't see why they need to over-gimmick this one and water the concept down.

I'm still hoping for Big Show to be Sin Cara, and the announcers ignore him beating Del Rio the past couple weeks and just think him and Rey were always a team

Anyway, I think the Rey/Big Show team is random enough that I think it's just preamble for sometime in the next month or two (maybe even at TLC) when they'll lose and Show'll snap and beat up Mysterio, leading to a feud between them.

SO? I really hate the idea of a Show/Mysterio tag team.
