Oklahoma will pursue a waiver from the NCAA for junior WR Dorial Green-Beckham to gain immediate eligibility, according to beat writer Jason Kersey. I can't see him getting a waiver after getting himself booted out of Mizzou but you never know. I couldn't believe the NCAA gave that kid that signed for ND a waiver to play immediately for UCLA last season, his sick grandma was still hours away at UCLA and if anything wouldn't her being sick mean he should redshirt?

And if I had a nickel for everyone I heard compared to Michael Jordan, I'd have a good few dollars. Up to now there is no comparison in my opinion. LeBron James I do not compare to Jordan because he is worthy himself of being a measuring stick

An update on that Texas Tech story
Texas Tech guard Amber Battle has been suspended for a month after admitting to having "initiated the first contact" in a fight with a football player at the university's recreation center, it was announced Friday.
Texas Tech said that Battle, a senior, is "suspended from competition for the entire month of November" for her role in the fight with freshman defensive back Nigel Bethel II during a pickup basketball game last weekend.
"During a pickup basketball game on June 28, I was involved in an incident with Texas Tech football player Nigel Bethel," Battle said in a statement. "I initiated the first contact and I take full responsibility for my actions. I want to take this time to apologize to Nigel, the Texas Tech community, my teammates, coaches and fans.
"Nothing I can say can truly repair the harm I have already caused. I did not represent the Double T like I am supposed to and I promise to hold myself to a higher standard from here on."
According to a police report, Bethel responded to Battle's actions by causing serious bodily injury with "hands, fists, feet, etc." He has been dismissed from the team and faces felony assault charges.
"Texas Tech Athletics has a zero tolerance policy on this type of behavior," the school announced in a statement after the incident.
Battle was the Red Raiders' leading scorer with 16.4 points per game last season, and also led the team in rebounds and assists to earn second-team All-Big 12 honors.
Bethel was Texas Tech's highest-rated recruit in its incoming freshman class, an ESPN 300 prospect from Miami's Booker T. Washington High School who joined the program this summer.
He was expected to participate in both football and track at Texas Tech.

Roll tide/war eagle is on espnU if you need a fix. The fourth repeat of the D2 title game just isn't doing it for me. I'm happy for NDSU. I am a former resident of that state I am happy for their success.

Also, if you need a football fix, www.youtube.com/user/thornsx/videos?flow=grid&view=0&sort=pSee you in August.

ESPN's KC Joyner believes Texas A&M won't miss Johnny Manziel.
His reasoning is four-fold: 1.) Only three SEC QBs who started 10 games last season are returning, putting the Aggies on an even playing field as they try to break in true freshman Kyle Allen or sophomore Kenny Hill; 2.) The running game will be better behind a great offensive line; 3.) A steadier ground game will lead to a more consistent offense, which should make up for the expected loss of big plays; 4.) Manziel went 2-5 against Alabama, Florida, Auburn and LSU, a record his successor could easily beat. "A brutal 2014 schedule that includes away games against South Carolina, and at Alabama and Auburn, as well as home contests against Missouri and LSU may make a repeat or improvement upon last year's 9-4 record difficult," Joyner concluded, hedging a bit.
NC State junior QB Jacoby Brissett was one of 76 players named to the preseason Maxwell Award watch list.

He takes a lot with him when he goes but it does not destroy the team. 9-4 sounds about right. Oh and they'll beat LSU

I always start thinking about things when comparisons like that emerge. Remember Harold "Baby Jordan" Miner? I read his feature in SI's "Where Are They Now?" issue today and his coach at USC went on record saying that he wished he could have stopped the Baby Jordan nickname before it took off. It's a bit of a roundabout way to get to my point, but what I'm saying is, it's not wise to put expectations like that on people in sports. It almost never works out the way people hope it will.

That was one time where I did the right thing, because I knew he wasn't going to do anything. And what do I hit in a pack of SP Authentic about half a year ago? A freaking Harold Miner auto. But I digress. There's an SEC team that I think people are massively underrating. So many top 40 or 50 lists don't have them, and I'm shocked. I'm surprised that Mizzou isn't getting more love.

Cincinnati head coach Tommy Tuberville wants Alabama to agree to a home-and-home series.
"It’s just hard to get a team to say we’ll have a home-and-home with Cincinnati … it’s a little bit risky," Tuberville said. "We’re just not going to be one of those teams that’s going to just go somewhere and play and not get a return game." The former Auburn coach wants another crack at the Crimson Tide, but doesn't sound confident that it will happen. "I’m in charge of our schedule right now, so, I’m out there trying to find teams to play," Tuberville said. "Now would I be really fired up about (playing Alabama)? Probably not because it’d be a one-game match."
Had forgot he was at Cincinnati
