I just saw Survivor Series 1993 for the first time recently, and holy shit is it bad. At least it gave us: I have to agree it's not one of the best, but I think between Savage's surprise appearance, the Owen/Bret stuff and what I found to be a fun main event I can't really see it as top 5 material. I might be biased as it is from the first year I was watching wrestling and I was only 6. My family wouldn't order it, so I had really built it up in my head as being this amazing show, to the extent that watching it from the video store only confirmed that impression. It also gave us this www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyZvAPOCEYY

It also gave us this Not to mention Afa and the turkey carcass, Jacques Rougeau main eventing a PPV, the way that it lays seeds for so many WM X angles (Bret/Owen, Bam Bam/Doink, Crush/Savage, Luger/Yoko). I think it's a fun time and it feels like a complete show, unlike say Survivor Series 1991 that just feels like a scam.

WrestleMania IV was pretty awful too. How dare you shit on the first show I remember watching? It gets points for nostalgia from me. I'm on a 90's WWE binge right now, and I got to say, those early 90's Survivor Series have very little replay value today. The tag matches suck and have no historical weight today. Underrated match between the Heavenly Bodies and RNR Express in 1993 though, nice SMW offer match unfortunately Boston didn't care, but good match nonetheless. As I'm posting this, the intro of KOTR 95 is playing, captain Kerwin Silfies is STILL in command, Mable is still gonna win and this is still gonna suck pond water. Shocking thing is, watching the RAWs going into the show, I'm not sure they had ANY clue who they wanted winning it and they just picked Mable because of his size to be Diesel's next feud. Had he not been hurt, Razor Ramon turning heel in one way or another (Attacking Shawn?) would have been a great feud for Diesel.

Oh, I feel you on the nostalgia. I watched it all the time as a kid. I remember (I think) that it was a double VHS tape. Even as a kid I was kind of annoyed at all the short matches and DQs, draws, and countouts. As an adult (for me at least), it's hard to enjoy it. There are things to enjoy, but not too much. Shows you shouldn't try to do a huge tournament in one night on PPV.

KOTR 95 is even more attrocious I remember it being.
Ramon not wrestling + jobbing out HBK & Taker in consecutive matches + Mabel wrestling twice + Savio Vega ACTUALLY giving a good performance but wrestling FOUR TIMES in one night + Mabel winning the whole thing + Philadelphia getting restless... my god. Add to this the WWE champ wrestling a meaningless tag in the main event against Sid and Tatanka (whom nobody gave a damn about by this point) instead of defending his belt and Hart/Lawler being too gimmicked and short..
Positives are hard to find... A first look at the Road Dogg... Savio gave us what he had, he tried, but he had NOTHING to work with, poor guy. The best match he had was IRS in the Qualifier, then a near immobile Yokozuna, a green as grass Road Dogg and MABEL. RIC FLAIR couldn't have saved that.
