I just saw a reference to him, and it immediately reminded me of something Bret Hart mentioned in his book, about how he felt very bad about "poor Boris Zhukov" in regards to his release from the WWF in late 1990/early 1991.
Is there something unique/weird/horrifying that happened there?
And whatever DID happen to Boris? Did he ever go anywhere else post-WWF?

I came across this the other day on History of WWE:
WWF @ Oakland, CA - Coliseum - September 22, 1990 (8,000) During the show, a backstage fight between WWF IC Champion Mr. Perfect and Boris Zhukov took place; Blackjack Lanza had to break it up
This was right after his lopsided feud with Nikolai when he basically became a straight TV jobber and seemed to be getting only sporadic work. I'd be curious to know what was going on.

Some went with the flow (Rougeau knew he was responsible for DK hazing him, which started that whole mess and ended with the roll of quarters to the teeth story...yet he calls Perfect his friend to this day) but others must have had less of a sense of humor...

Bret was just commenting on how poor Boris was, imagine where he must have ended up if his more successful partner ended up in a dumpster...

Still blows my mind that Zhukov was actually an American born in Virginia.

In fairness to the Rougeaus in regards to the Jacques Rougeau/Dynamite Kid incident, Perfect covered all of his bases when he pulled that rib on the Rougeaus. Perfect told the Rougeaus Dynamite Kid did it and he told the Bulldogs that the Rougeaus would stooge them off to Vince for the prank. I don't think that there was any ill will between Rougeau and Perfect after this incident.

I know that back in the mid 90s Boris was a truck driver and lived near Foley Alabama. But no idea what he as doing before or after that period.

According to the man himself, for whatever reason, Vince McMahon saw to it that no other company with TV could book him because he refused to continue to work for him as a low paid jobber.

He currently works for a trucking company and does very little wrestling related because of his schedule. I've seen indy shows he has been scheduled around the Virginia area and he does the Sgt. (formerly private) Jim Nelson gimmick.
As for Boris, it was just his time to leave. He had been there three years and never really got any traction. The Bolsheviks were just an extra team by 1988 and in 1989 Nikolai took some time off. Boris was a jtts at that point. After the breakup, he was an afterthought because it was originally Akeem who was scheduled for the Survivor Series 1990 match.

According to Bret, Zhukoff was touring around with the WWF for a week or so but wasn't being booked in any matches during that time. He went to see Vince about this, and Vince started laughing and told him "Oh they forgot to tell you, you're fired".

If you're Zhukov in that situation, wouldn't you start asking questions around Day 2? This story also doesn't jibe with Zhukov's own account from above.

Any sentence that starts "according to Bret", you have to take with a grain of salt.
