I like it. It provides background for guys rather than acting like they just waltzed onto the scene.

I like it. It provides background for guys rather than acting like they just waltzed onto the scene. Or acting like they're random schmucks who somehow know how to do moves and take bumps.

Dolph Ziggler(when two guys were shaking hands on the NXT TV show): "This isn't Ring Of Honor!" LMAO that was great.

The first instance I can remember of a modern mention of an active outside company was during the Matt Hardy invades Raw angle they were doing where he shouted as they were escorting him out that he would be wrestling in Ring of Honor. More recently, during the Summer of Punk I also remember some promo where Cena mentioned that even if he was fired from WWE he would leave to go "make an Impact elsewhere" or something like that.

...and in articles about the Shield they've mentioned Rollins and Ambrose's indie careers (though incorrectly saying Ambrose was an ROH product). I know Ambrose isn't an ROH product in the same sense as guys like Punk, Bryan, Bourne, Cesaro, Rollins, Luke Harper and Generico, but he did make appearances in ROH during his time in the indies. The only two I know for certain were on February 23, 2007 and June 22, 2007, but there may have been others. I put Ambrose in the same group as Sami Callihan, PAC, or Sterling James Keenan; guys who got WWE contracts after sporadic/minimal tenure in ROH. But if people like Lita can be considered ECW products, then an argument can be made for these guys being ROH products as well.

Nothing major nor was ROH mentioned during the segment, but I recently re watched Roderick Strong going against Kurt Angle in 2005 during one of the Kurt Angle Invitationals. They didn't change his name for it and by that time he was already becoming a prominent figure in ROH/occasionally on TNA.
