Not an Aj fan at all, and iv to heard some things about her that are not so pleasent before but i cant see her being punished to heavily. In fact i have no doubt she will retain her title tonight against Natalya.

Congrats to future Divas champion Natalya. And it happened in her birthday year!

I despise AJ Lee. Not a huge WWE fan but I watched some of her work once she gained all of her popularity and not only is she about a 6/10 looks wise but also above average as a talent at best. Not as fantastic or amazing as people say. Now, her alleged unprofessional attitude seems to be a regular occurrence. Not only does she have that hugely embarrassing tattoo marking the day she was given a television prop but she strikes me as a massive mark for herself and the business and she needs to stop before she loses her job. As for this specific situation. If true, it's pathetic behaviour. When you're at work you don't act like an idiot no matter how emotional or upset you are. AJ Lee needs to grow up. You say she has average looks and above average talent, so why exactly do you despise her? And what do you mean regular attitude problems? This is the first I've ever heard of her having any sort of backstage problems. And her tattoo is tiny, and is hidden by her hair. It's not really that big of a deal. You really seem to be blowing all this out of proportion. He's right. AJ has a history of bad behaviour, such as failing drug tests, no-showing events, insulting fans, refusing to sign autographs, shooting on her opponents, and all those other regular unprofessional things that have never occured.

As for topic, maybe true, probably blown well out of proportion, I just find it funny that Styles and JBL come to blows in Iraq and we find out the same day, AJ supposedly goes batshit crazy on a celebrity in the States and it takes 4 days and it' all comes off as guesswork. Forget this AJ stuff, tell me more. You don't remember when JBL became an Iraqi sympathizer?

"Nattie, Gizmo isn't up there in heaven..." Appropriate facial expression following that line... "She's looking towards hell Michael! She's looking towards hell!" - JBL on commentary

But they do mean something, or at least should, because they are supposed to be macguffins, a prized object that drives the story forward If the object means nothing, neither does the story.

People still subscribe to insane Russo-esque thinking regarding titles? Well....I mean. The titles ARE props. They don't mean anything in all seriousness. If the titles are just props, then so is everything else wrestling related. Wins and loses become just as meaningless. Pushes mean nothing. Wrestling moves are fake. If you really were to believe all this, what would even be the point of being a fan?

You can still enjoy a movie or TV show and know that everything in them isn't real. I watch wrestling to have fun. I'm not sitting there trying to act like the things or items in the show have some sort of real world prestige to them.

Acknowledging that something isn't real and saying that something has no value are two completely different things.

What's wrong with being proud of your success? That's all her title win date tattoo really means. I don't understand the people using that against her and accusing her of "being a mark". Who doesn't have an ego in the wrestling business?

I think it's possible that if people got the date of winning a match, losing a match, getting a push or doing a wrestling move publicly tattooed on their body it might also draw some comments. All except getting a push relate specifically to events within the fictional narrative of a wrestling show, and aren't things people have had tattooed on them in the past, to my knowledge.

The problem though in wrestling is that the desire to be a champion is pretty much the fundamental basis upon which the kayfabe product is based on. If the attitude is "these titles don't mean anything" is present behind the scenes, that will (and I would argue has) filtered into the kayfabe product. If you have a performer who genuinely considers it an honour to be selected to be a champion in a company they respect, that helps convey the impression to the audience that they should also care about it, thus be more invested in the story.

Y'all muthf***as are nuts when it comes to Divas related threads. Seriously, these threads bring about the very worst in passion and ideology. At this point, I might as well go to TMZ for my wrestling news since wrestling news sites are morphing into them. Hell, TMZ broke more wrestling related stories than those sites.

But they do mean something, or at least should, because they are supposed to be macguffins, a prized object that drives the story forward If the object means nothing, neither does the story. IRL, they mean less than nothing though. Sure, as far as WWE's story goes, it means a ton in the same way that a fake gun can portrayed as an actual threat when in a TV drama. At the end of the day, though, a belt is absolutely a prop. It is an object designed to push along a story. That's all it's ever been. Doesn't mean it should be treated highly in the story but IRL, I don't see how anybody can seriously say it's not a prop.
