You need to digest what you just wrote, and tell me that this is honestly the response of a guy who doesn't care. You shouldn't care. That's cool. You should just stop correcting people with incorrect information. What was the point of your correction in the first place? To let said poster know that he was off on the date of the information he said? You were, too. And I corrected you. Big deal. So ya. Stop arguing. And leave with some dignity, man. So you're telling him to quit arguing so you can have the last word and if he responds he's clearly embarrassed and angry? Calling him out like that is worse than his correction. Have some class FANners jesus. It's not a contest. I understand the point he was making, but his response was also factually incorrect. That cannot be argued, yet it is. Continuously. His intention I would assume in correcting the OP was to present the factually correct information. And I too did the same. Yet, you're trying to paint me as the villain, when I was simply returning the favor, and he refuses to concede an issue already lost over and over. If my response in turn had've also been incorrect, I'd have had no issue in being corrected. In fact, I'd want to be. I certainly wouldn't continue to argue irrelevant semantics.

For his eloquent writing and general smarty pants-ness in this thread, I'm punishing SEAN CARLESS by giving him a unabashed Paris Hilton superfan gimmick on the forum from now on.

I get objection but what's the alternative? Sure it's preferable to be punished on TV than to be released. You can't not discipline someone for bad behaviour. - Fines. - Unpaid suspension, or working unpaid if in the middle of an important story. - A strikes policy similar to Wellness. Screw up too many times and you're gone.

But I took the poster in question as being condescending to the person he corrected, despite he himself being also incorrect. If my phrasing offended Todd Pentingill, I apologize for the part that could have been phrased differently. I should have simply corrected the error without getting a dig in. In retrospect, I came off as a dick more than I intended.

A lot of the punishments are really mature. I also hate double standards such as writing storyline reasons for offenders to be taken out of a story if they are high on the totem pole, but not bothering with the lower card. The first example I think of is R-Truth getting knocked out by the Miz instead of them just announcing he was suspended. It is better to humiliate them instead of basically sending the message that they have something planned for them despite being a major inconvenience. Every other TV show manages to have continuing, serial storylines without running the risk of the actors' backstage behavior ending or significantly changing the storyline. It's not hard.

Whatever happens backstage should stay backstage. I don't see any point to why the fans should be punished by having to sit through the humiliation of a wrestler who upset a higher up. What does that achieve beside petty self-satisfaction? More than half of their airtime as it is feel like we're watching WWE just constantly putting people in their place for one reason or another.

- Triple H is made to job for a year after the 'curtain call' incident. He won the IC title two months after the MSG incident. Dude wasn't forced to job. He may have missed out on being King of the Ring, but it's better that Austin won anyway. No, he was pretty much a jobber all the way up until he won the IC Title surprisingly. He lost to everybody, but then again, lots of people have gone on longer losing streaks, so I guess what happened with that isn't as big of a deal as it's made out to be. It also may've been blown out of proportion due to Trips not being pinned in a singles match until Wrestlemania 12, though I think he was pinned at the Survivor Series and lost via DQ against Duke Droese. My memory of that is sad, but it also shows how important win streaks can be. But yeah, it wasn't a year, but he definitely was beaten into powder during that time. Anyway, one example I remember is JTG, talking about getting f***ed on money, and then having to job to Ryback. The thing though was, I thought JTG put on a great performance and made the best of the opportunity to get on tv. I was thinking, yeah, that's punishment, but hey, maybe something could come of this with his performance. It didn't, and JTG has kinda been gone for awhile.

Wrestling companies need to have someone at booking meetings asking 'How will this make money?', pointing out that things like giving a talented worker a mommas boy gimmick because he plays videogames backstage isn't going to draw a dime. There is absolutely no reason to punish guys for things that don't break the companies employment policies or the law, the only message it sends is that some guys are seen as replaceable and can be thrown under the bus while others... well, Randy Orton gets enough wellness violations to be fired, but they move the goalposts... Sorry, 'clarify' the wellness policy and he remains in the main event scene. Chris Masters gets wellness violations, but works hard to maintain a good, clean physique and improves in the ring as a result, his reward is a non push and being the butt of jokes abut his muscle mass.

Nope
Ludicrously stupid to punish people on air.
All disciplinary measures should be handled behind the scenes.

It's dumb, it makes no sense and it punishes the viewers.
Pro Wrestling seems to be the only form of entertainment that runs itself like this and I really don't get why.

This kind of thinking might explain many things in the entertainment industry
Maybe George Lucas hated Jake Lloyd and wanted to punish him by giving him shitty dialogue and a terrible storyline in The Phantom Menace in order to bury him and end his career.

I still feel like a lot of this is very subjective. Like, can we name times when we were "punished" as fans for somebody else being "punished"? Because I don't get it.
You know the last time I felt "punished"? Being forced to watch Cena/Orton TLC 2013 instead of what we knew would have been a better main event.
