I'm still not a fan, but he played the heel role to the hilt tonight, going a complete 180 from what he has been for the longest time. If he can keep that up, and produce in the ring as he clearly can, this run won't be too shabby and could be interesting.
I'm not totally sold, but much less apathy-filled than I was even a few hours ago.
Here's hoping.

Posted it in the Raw thread and I'll post it here.
Know what? I'll eat crow. Orton tore it up tonight. He was good on the mic, brilliant in the ring, and he's way more credible now than he was at the beginning of the show.
Maybe the Age of Orton 2.0 won't be such a bad thing...

Don't expect it to last.
Orton's career is filled with moments of greatness followed by years of boring.

I wish he would use the Evolution music and do the Orton pose in his entrance while the pyro goes off again. I think it fits his current persona better.

It took them a while, but this is the best he's been booked in a long time

Don't expect it to last. Orton's career is filled with moments of greatness followed by years of boring. Yep. His schtick gets very old, very fast.

Don't expect it to last. Orton's career is filled with moments of greatness followed by years of boring. That's what I'm worried about. It's beyond frustrating. When he's on point, there are few better. But damn, Orton is inconsistent. While watching the main event tonight, I'm thinking, "Dude, the f*** were you doing these past few months?! Where was this Orton?" Maybe being on top again will be enough to motivate him to maintain that brilliance for more than a flash.

I'll grant, for tonight, Orton showed some serious fire. Outside of that opening promo, but whatever, it's not his strong suit and he was good in the later one. It's just kind of hard to give him too many kudos since he's incredibly inconsistent and prone to deciding to go in lazy mode for months at a time. Hopefully it keeps up, though.

I'm still confused on why he wants us to bend over. I don't think it's meant to kiss his ass

I can't comment on if it will last. But Randy Orton was awesome tonight, all around.

The difference is this Orton is the same as 2010-2013 face Orton except he's fighting as a heel. He's not being booked as a weak champion anymore and they're at least letting him kick ass. He's showing his skills on the mic too. Honestly this is the only Orton he should have been. We should have never seen a weak "chickenshit" Randy Orton. Just turn him heel while let him keep everything else the same and he's good to go.

Not that I'm complaining, he's done a good job making him look like a threat.

He seemed motivated tonight. That was a damn good match. They should NOT give Bryan/Orton away for free

It's funny how, in kayfabe, HHH is referred to as the man who "made" Orton when he repeatedly just made Orton look like a chump over the years.
