The Intercontinental Championship and United States Championship are the only two championships that have not been merged yet. When will the titles be unified?

Hopefully they won't be.

Just drop the US title and keep the IC.

This. It's kind of funny that people keep repeating the 'there's too many titles' thing when now with only the WWE, IC, US, Tag, and Divas Championships active, WWE has the least amount of championships at any point since December 1997 when the Lightheavyweight Title was introduced. Hopefully the IC Title is elevated and the US Title becomes the first stepping stone for younger guys.

Before they do anything, how about they actually make the belts worth more than a bowl of piss?

I don't think they should. Their roster is still big enough to justify three singles titles. They just need to properly tier the IC and US belts so that there's a real hierarchy of status between them.
IMO it should be WWE (main event), IC (just below main event), US (micdard).
If they booked the IC belt like they did with the World Title during the past few years, I'd be happy.

I say either make the Intercontinental (US has more credibility of late) title a firmly lower-midcard title or after unifying them bring back the Hardcore title. The lower card needs something to go for and some reason to be employed outside of, "How long will they manage to avoid getting kicked in the arm then tapping out to the cross armbreaker?", and see to it they're actually used. Honestly I think four male titles is too few as it is, but three would just be way too limiting with the size of the roster today. It'd basically be like those days when they dropped the Intercontinental title and Raw basically just became, "Triple H, the tag champions, and their jobber friends."

Hopefully Wrestlemania. Maybe have a fatal four way for both titles. Less titles means less people they might want to job out when they need to get somebody over, and that means it's less likely the IC or US Champion will be one of those people.

If the world and wwe titles stay unified than there is no reason at all for the IC and US titles to be unified.

The US title? Oh you mean the surgically grafted to Dean Ambrose's waist title!

At Wrestlemania 30, when Goldust (IC Champ) takes on Cody Rhodes (US Champ). The title that spawns is silver, called the International Championship, and it creates the interesting visual of a gold top tier belt, a silver mid-tier belt and a set of copper lower tier tag team titles.
I wouldn't mind a 4th lesser title, but the US and IC are historical enough to warrant being one instead of being devalued even further. Maybe they can just bring back the cruiserweight championship (or make a tv title?) as a specialty title or something so guys like Kofi and other smaller dudes have something to do.

But that's essentially what the US belt is now? What's the point in making another belt if that position could easily be filled with one already available? All they really need to do is bulk up the prestige of the IC belt so more main event guys even value it.

I think it's fine the way it is, but they seem to be using the US Title soley for some Shield break up match at Mania or something. I think once it gets out of their sphere and whoever wins it, we'll start seeing a clearer division for the US and IC titles.

The roster size + the amount of shows they have means both can work.
One should be made a clear #2 though, and let the 3rd be defended on Main Event.
Also, the less amount of physical titles they have, means the less merch they can sell. That's probably why they're making Orton carry around both titles.

Keep both, but just make the IC title a bigger deal.
