It's been nearly four years since David Tennant regenerated into Matt Smith and broke the hearts of fangirls everywhere (as well as fanboys). Now with Matt Smith's time running out, what memories do you have of Tennant's somewhat controversial regeneration? I personally thought it was good. I don't really get the whole idea of hating his regeneration because he didn't want to go. To be honest regardless of whether or not I knew I would be coming back in a different body I wouldn't say I'd be terribly excited about the prospect of leaving that current body behind. Not to mention he's at the tail end of his regeneration cycle, so just a couple more to go and he's dead for real. I can't imagine being that excited for the future because of that.

I thought he was awesome once they got to season 3 and got rid of Duckface.
I mean, yeah, it led to the show half the time being centered around a character who wasn't even appearing, but still.
David Tennant was great.

We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep.
This song is ending, but the story never ends.

Regeneration has always been one of the more interesting parts of Doctor Who to me. I would be scared to regenerate were I him. Your personality tends to change a lot based on what's going on around you it seemed. Nine carried the guilt of the Time War and became this bitter, sarcastic personality as a result for example. He didn't know who he'd be in a few minutes. He just new it'd be a different him.
That's scary

Yeah, I didn't really care for that episode. Out of all the specials in that run, I found it to be the weakest.
As for his run as a whole, I definitely enjoyed it. I've said Tennant's my least favorite of the three modern doctors, but his run gave us plenty of great episodes.

I knew exactly what this was in reference to without opening it.
I don't want you to go either!!!!
David Tennant is my favorite Doctor, but I definitely wish Christopher Eccleston had stuck around longer.

Tennett will always be the emo Doctor for me. Emphasised by his most emo of all regenerations in the show. I really like him as an actor, but not a big fan of his Doctor Who run, in most part because of RTD's pretty awful writing.

I've always felt the whole "I don't want to go" line gave a really cool perspective into the regeneration process. He truly looked at it like dying, because even tho his consciousness lives on, that "version" of him will never exist again.
