How dare the Nerd hate on Bad Dudes!!
Also, I guess I'm gonna be one of the few who did not hate Shadow The Hedgehog.

Those Sears catalogs reminded me of when I was a kid looking through Toys R Us catalogs in the early 90s. Good times man.

I didnt like Skate or Die either, i could never get the controls. Heck, i'd go as far as to say T&C Surf Designs (which the nerd also hated) was a better skateboarding game.

You people are all dead to me! Granted I was only able to do the high jump with the MAX or Advantage controller.

That's cool that he talked about the Holiday catalogs. I remember my family got one around 1990-91. I can remember still pulling it out to look at the toys and video games for many years after that. I especially loved seeing the WCW action figures because I had never seen them in stores before.

Man, I loved those catalogs as a kid. I can't remember when or who it was, but around 1992, JC Penney or Sears eclipsed the other and soon after, both started having less and less in each catalog. By around 1995, both had nearly abandoned anything toy related. Growing up somewhat poor, I remember if I didn't get something for Christmas, I'd at least cut out the picture and have that. My imagination went to great distances to be happy. I miss those days. How dare the Nerd hate on Bad Dudes!! The arcade version is awesome, but the NES port does have some major problems, unfortunately.

Anyone else find themselves just wanting James to look at that catalog for 15 minutes? That was incredibly interesting. What's also interesting is that he deliberately didn't cover Sonic '06 during the Sonic portion. He and Mike played it recently, and after watching that and the old Game Grumps playthrough of it, I think AVGN should make an exception and review that game sometime. Nothing wrong with featuring a post-2000 game once in awhile...or just once. I know he's not a big gamer anymore, but for a game as infamous as Sonic '06, it deserves the Nerd treatment.

Those Sears catalogs reminded me of when I was a kid looking through Toys R Us catalogs in the early 90s. Good times man. First you could look through the catalogs for ideas of new games to try, and then you could look at an entirely different section of the catalog for material to masturbate to. Take that, David Cameron, you closet wanker!

I can easily see why he hates on the NES version of Karate Champ, as the arcade version of the game was designed with two joysticks (One for movement and one for the different moves) which I guess doesn't translate well onto an NES game-pad.
