Well, I don't so much anymore, but I used to.
I remember years back we had planned to do a podcast together. I already had the editing equipment, wrote a format with segments we could use (while trying to get him to come up with ones which he never did) and lined up some guest. I had a pretty hectic work schedule as I was going to school and working at the same time. My friend on the other hand just worked retail. Still, I decided to work around his work schedule so we could actually get something done. Well, even then it was tough to plan something out, but after a few weeks of talking and planning we were set to do it on one of my friend's days off. So I call him up the day of and...he's getting high with someone and couldn't do it today. Needless to say I abandoned any thought of working with him of a podcast in the future. I'm just glad we had decided that we were going to do the first show without any guest as I'd hate to have to explain that situation to someone who agreed to an interview.
So anyone else got any stories like this?

I'm pretty f***ing flaky. But I never make plans with anyone most of the time unless it's a special event and I often pick the worst times when I want to hang out.

I knew a guy who had a penchant to no-show for plans that he would either be invited to or make as a group. He progressively got worse and worse to the point where he no-showed meeting up with a group of friends at his apartment when we were all going to go to a movie without messaging any of us.
I stopped talking to him after he three-times-in-a-row made plans to meet up with me to give me 20 bucks and didn't. When I finally called him on it he legit lied about having Aspergers as an excuse and got in my face about it. Once I got the 20 back, I just entirely cut him from my life.
I put the brakes on flakes.

Nope. If I had flakey friends I would have dumped their ass a long time ago.

Yeah. A buddy of mine with a penchant for bar waitresses. Haven't spoken to him so much since June. If we didn't go to the bar that contained the waitress he was after, it's impossible to get him out. I guess we're still friends, he can still call me for help if he needs it, we just don't talk much anymore. That's all.

I live in Cali. Thus is the flake capital of the US.
If you don't flake on something at least once a week, they force you to move to Nevada.

I had a flaky friend once. Turns out all he needed was the right shampoo.

There are a couple, but they're not too bad for the most part. But I'm not going to stop bring their friend because they flake because I genuinely like them despite their penchant for lateness or no showing at the last minute.
It's annoying, but I know the deal.
