I recently purchased a copy of MegaMan X3 on Ebay. I received the game today, and decided to try it after work. However, when I went to turn it on, I got a weird message that said "Interface Register: Failed" "Press Any Key to Exit". I figured it was part of the trailer to the game, since it had been a very long time since I played. I pressed A and got the Capcom fanfare screen, afterward black. I cleaned the pins to the game, and after a couple more tries I got another onscreen message that the Register File had also failed and so forth. Again after I pressed A, I got the Capcom screen but also got a title screen. The title screen didn't have Megaman as the icon in it like the screen shot in the listing. When I went to play, the background of the game showed up, as well as the text and nothing else. I cleaned it again and it produced the same thing. The game doesn't fit very snugly to my SNES, meaning it can be jarred easily, however I tried shifting the game slightly to see if it would work better but it either did the same thing, or it would black screen. I have never seen error messages at the beginning of a game before, nor have I ever encountered anything like this. I looked online to see what could be causing this and didn't see much that could be done. I don't know if a pin may have been damaged, or there is a weird lockout on my SNES or something.
What really annoys me is the seller doesn't offer any returns or exchanges. Considering the game looked to be in working order from the listing, makes me assume that perhaps something happened during shipping.
Any advice?
