My buddy and his wife just took a trip to Cleveland to see the house. He showed me pics, and it looks great. They give a tour and have a gift shop, which he said was really expensive. He said that all of the actors, besides Ralphie, have stopped by. Probably because Ralphie is a big hot shot Hollywood producer. He also told me the tour people said they used to keep the decoder thing out, but people kept stealing it, so now its in a glass case. Haha.

I love it, but I could easily go a decade without seeing it again.

Here is something I never got: the announcer says in the famous "drink your Ovaltine" scene to set the decoders to B-2. But the first letter is not represented by the number 2. A mistake, or did those decoder pins work differently? P.S. I am shocked that there wasn't an urban legend that Ralphie originally did say the F-word, but they changed it to the "fudge" dialogue for cable.

When had in moderation (like twice during a Christmas season is plenty), it's a heartwarming and charming movie. Loved this movie as a kid, having owned a VHS and DVD copy.
